Please... since when is having teammates who are averaging 20/8/4 (Caron Butler) and 19/8/2 (Antawn Jamison) single-handedly taking a team to the playoffs? Gilbert Arenas is having an amazing season, there is no doubt about that, but he has plenty of help on the offensive end. Also, scoring at will really does not warrant winning an MVP award. If Kobe and LeBron did not get the MVP award because of the numbers they put up last season, why in the world would those same voters give the award to Arenas when Kobe's and LeBron's numbers last year were better?</div>Why?, well because he has elevated hsi game to a very high level and has made countless game winners, something that Kobe can acounter for but Lebron can not so that already tells you why he did not win MVP. And what separates this season from Arenas to the one that Kobe had last year is that despite KObe being the best player, Arenas has had more impact on a game that Kobe ever has. Arenas does have help, but he is the main reason why teh wizards are were they are. Not too mention that Arenas is a more likeable guy than Kobe which means that there is no Kobe hating going on.
In Reality - Steve Nash - They have to give it to him again or it's robbery...say what you want about the first 2, his numbers are better this season. He has to get it this year because he got it the last 2 years. In My Opinion - Kobe Bryant- It's about damn time he gets an MVP. His team is doing better, putting up 28ppg and having his best year shooting from the field. I just want him to finally get one.

And I also stated that teh Kobe haters kept him from winning last years

lol oh well ist thier loss. Shame to have wasted all that effort though. pft not like its life or death f it. I'll go back to short posts.
Clangus...I don't get why you don't think KG has no chance...he has the best overall stats this year...and without him the Wolves are below mediocre...they're only 3 games out of the division with a winning record and IMO have a good chance at taking it..they're hot right nowif the Wolves win the division KG should definitely be a frontrunner for MVPif you wanna talk stats22.7 PPG (16th in the NBA)12.6 RPG (1st in the NBA)4.4 APG (7th in F's..obviously PGs are gonna dominate this stat..either way assists = overrated)2.03 BPG (8th in the NBA)1.2 SPG (15th in Forwards and like 47th in the NBA lol...once again...a guard dominated stat)the guy's got efficient numbersand for the PTS/REB/AST average he has a 5 point advantage over the "MVP" Steve Nash..5th in the league
they're only 3 games out of the division with a winning record

20 and 16 isn't exactly world beating just barely above .500. A winning record yes, but convinceing Noif the Wolves win the division KG should definitely be a frontrunner for MVP

If they win it yes. But I cant see them doing that- though as you mentioned they are hot at the moment.if you wanna talk stats

no not really. There has never been a question of KG and his ability to put up the numbers. I just think MVP is about more than eff rating. KG is playing good ATM and so is the TWolves, but no where near as good as the suns mavs etcdam this quote thingy I f'd it up
at this point for me here are MY candidates:1. gilberthe is simply too good. in the past few seasons people have denied his talent, but now it's just clear that gilbert is just almost unstoppable.2. kobekobe has been playing good ball, not scoring as much as last season but his assists average have increased, and he like the thread starter said is the lakers main man(of course lamar odom has also been playing well)3. yaohe has been so dominant this season down on the block, almost impossible to stop. some might disagree, but I think he is about to be the best center in the league today exceeding shaq.4. nashas much as I hate him I have to agree he has been playing better than last season, although looking at some games it does show that age has been catching up to him a bit.5. tmactmac, with a whole new playmaker attitude, at the begginning of the season was helping his team win ball games along with yao. now that yao got injured he has given himself the duty to carry the weight of the team on his shoulders.and of course there are alot more, those are just my five. dont say I left out anybody, thats all my opinion.also gotta give a shoutout to cb4, he has proven several times to be the face of the raptors and I think he should also be considered a top candidate(along with people like joe johnson, michael redd, carmelo, and so on...)

Scoring 30+ 6 times outta 7 is not keeping the Rockets in the west? And he just scored 45 yesterday and 37 before that. I don't even think you're even watching Rocket's games dude. Also another thing to point out, his playmaking ability. He finds shots for everyone, he's that damn good. He'll draw in the defense then pass it out to the open man.
I am definitely not going to give this one to Nash. Nash and the Suns have pretty much done this for the last 2 seasons, and they have been a let down in the playoffs IMO. They have had the talent to get to the finals, and they have fallen short both times. And IMO, that should reflect back on thier leader Nash. I just cant give him a vote knowing that he has failed is very talented team 2 years in a row.To me, its easily Dirk or Kobe. Dirk has led his team to the best record in the NBA right now, he has beaten big teams like San Antonio twice, and others, and he has led this team every step of the way. He makes big shots when he needs to, and he is the leader of this team. Everyone knows that he is one of the best shooters in the game, but if you watch this guy play, he just brings more than that. Its something that I cant even explain. As for Kobe, all you need to do is watch the guy once and you know why he is in consideration. The guy is simply amazing. Watching him play tonight against the Spurs and asbsolutley torch Bruce Bowen was a treat to watch. He can flat out do everything with the ball. He is an amazing passer, he is a better shooter, and to me, he has proven himself to be a great leader. He has led his team to the 4th best record in the NBA without their 2nd best player for 16 games. What else can you ask from the guy? He goes out and gives you 35.4 a game last year and that wasnt enough, so he decideds to score less, and now his team is doing great. Give it to him already....I am tired of waiting.

I'm thinking Dirk or Kobe have to win it this year, seeing as how they were both robbed last year. Nash can do what he does because he has all that talent around him, and yet they still can't get their sh*t together. Kobe has to be the front runner, the Lakers are still rebuilding and yet hold a 26-13 record in the West. Kobe is doing the things this year that his critics said he didn't do last year. He deserves this f*cking award. However, as long as Nash doesn't win it, I'll be happy. The voters can take his dick out of their mouths already.
