If he matured a couple years ago the Lakers could've tied the Celtics for championships by now and would be on their way to passing them. I'm so glad Shaq left, at least for the last two years.

If the Lakers hadn't have played like sh*t in the 2003 and 2004 playoffs they would have tied the Celtics at 16.

If the team didn't break up they would have probably passed the big sixteen

Please, don't remind me. Can you believe that the Lakers have lost the Championship 14 times? it's unbelievable. Had their fortunes been better in some of those series, they could have won 20 titles!

My MVP vote would go to either Dirk Nowitzki or Gilbert Arenas. Simple as that.

<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE (Michael Bryant @ Jan 18 2007, 07:16 PM) <{POST_SNAPBACK}></div><div class='quotemain'>I'm thinking Dirk or Kobe have to win it this year, seeing as how they were both robbed last year. Nash can do what he does because he has all that talent around him, and yet they still can't get their sh*t together. Kobe has to be the front runner, the Lakers are still rebuilding and yet hold a 26-13 record in the West. Kobe is doing the things this year that his critics said he didn't do last year. He deserves this f*cking award.</div>They are 31-8. I would say they have their sh*t together. [IMG]

Kobe is my favourite, but if I am honest about it there is no doubt that he is probably going to miss out. DIRK seems the most likely.

This is such a tough decision between Lebron, Kobe, and Gilbert. None of those teams are playoff teams without those 3 guys. The voting at the end of the year is going to be a mess. I'm going to slightly go with Kobe since I have to pick one. I feel like the dude is just a flat-out winner and is probably a little more contagious in the locker room about it than the other two.

Dallas is the best team in the league and Dirk is their best player. Avery is saving Dirk for the playoffs by not playing him too many minutes and getting other players involved.

I feel the Mavs are a good team even without Dirk. Playoffs for sure, 50 Ws... maybe. I go with the 3 guys I mentioned because I think they're the only 3 who's teams don't make the playoffs without them.

I think now nash is out of the equation(or atleast out of the top 5)kobe-arenas-dirkwho will be the oneI think it will be dirk since they have the best record but still, most valuable player I remember last years playoffs when wiz faced cavs gilbert stayed on one whole game including overtime, because he's that valuable. plus this season hes appeared on like more than like 10 clutch highlight films. and kobe is just amazing. like I said the mvp this year will probably be disco dirk

Well yeah the mavs are a playoff team without Dirk but they're playing like the best team with Dirk. The mavs are having their best year ever. Nash and Kobe are the same but I'll give it to Dirk.

Well I love Dirk's game and I think he's the best player in the league not named Kobe, but I think the others are more "valuable" to their team than he is to Dallas.

Dirk is definetely one of the front runners in this w/ his team now leading the NBA and going for a very good record. Nash of course, Suns are right on the tails of the Mavs. Homer pick Arenas for me, we're now leading the Eastern Conference, tell me he's not valuable. Although I think Kobe is VERY deserving I doubt the league would ever give the award to Kobe.
