I think we should go after CJ's older brother, Errick McCollum. Not only because it'd be cool to bring CJ's brother the team, but also because he can light up the scoreboard. He's a former CBA scoring champ, and last year's Eurocup MVP. I read he was only on a 1 year deal this last season, so he's not contractually obligated to stay overseas. We will likely look to sign some depth at PG to replace Brian Roberts, and I just don't see anyone that we could get cheap enough that would make more sense than him. He already has chemistry with CJ (obviously) and I assume he and Lillard have met a few times. We should at least send him a summer league invite. (Shot of CJ in there) What do yall think? Should we give big bro a shot?
Kobe only got 81. This guy is better. Problem is nepotism, when he and his brother disagree with Lillard. That's why you don't hire fraternal cliques at work. Pretty soon, Lillard will want to hire his own brother-in-law to sell his red shoes. Besides, we can split the 82 points from the other 14 players. 6 points each.
Not a good idea because then what happens if you find out he's not good enough and want to cut him? CJ won't be happy about that.
CJ would be happy he got the chance. That's what we'd tell him. "Were giving him a chance to make the team." CJ wouldn't get butthurt about it.
This is not related to the workplace at all and the idea of not hiring a talent based on relationships is absurd in the first place. If you are not going to hire someone because there might be a potential hypothetical problem in the future based on no evidence you might as well not hire anyone since there is always an unknown hypothetical chance some statistic will say there is some risk to hire x employee due to y circumstance. If a player has the talent and the known positives outweigh the unknown negatives then you make the deal. To hold it against his brother because CJ is on the team is hogwash. Imagine if Kevin Durant was instead named Kevin Lillard... It goes without saying that no sane Blazer basketball fan would bring up the issue of nepotism, favoritism, or baptism! You sign up the Lillard brothers ASAP every day and twice on Tuesdays!
By all means put him on the summer team and see what he's got. I doubt it would be a Morris twins situation. CJ has his head screwed on way better than those clowns.
Problem is who is going to wear No. 3. A potentially big problem that would end up hurting the team chemistry at the end.
The Babbitt scored in double figures in 12 of the last 14 games he played this year with the Pelicans. (50% from deep on 40 shots) Yes I know he still sucks, but he is hanging in there......
If we had all of those brothers there would be so much bickering and probably a lot of fights with other teams
If he has the talent then take a look you just don't pass that up. Maybe he will one of 30 they bring I don't know but talent out weigh being related to someone on the team.
What is his size? Isnt he a little bigger than CJ? How is his D? I'm all for it especially if he brings size, but the contract he might get can only be for a minimal minute backup PG. say, $2-4 per? Obviously if he makes the cut.
He's 6'2 and skinnier. Definetly a scoring PG. Defensively, I'm not sure about him. He looks more athletic then CJ so maybe he could do a better job staying in front. I think he'd take the minimum. CJ and his mother live here. He could play with his bro and be around his family.
