He also led the nation in total rebounds (not rpg though), in win shares, and made the final four. Yeah, he was definitely pretty good as a freshman.

Just a random aside--if the average ticket for a finals game is $1,625 (according to this report), then a game 7 adds about $32M to the BRI calculation just in ticket sales, which means an additional $123K for Lillard next year, or an additional $700K+ over the five years. If game 7 tickets average somewhere in the neighborhood of 2500, that 700K goes up to over $1M.

So basically, every 2016 NBA free agent (and Lillard) should be rooting for the Cavs on Thursday.

I bet arena costs and creative bookkeeping bring that down significantly.

I think what is killing Love is his size, he is slow but slim now, he is like Michael Beasley at this point. He needs to gain weight again so he can box out better, he just can't throw his body around down low anymore.

    Opinion huh.
So love hasn't come up short when he's been the man his entire basketball career?
UCLA vs Memphis 08? Can't lead a T-Wolves team to an above .500 roster when they had a ton of talent on that team?
Kevin Love was supposed to lead them to the finals. Yet vs Memphis he came up short. Very short...
Could even argue it took collison saving them vs texas a&m to even have a chance to face a team with nba talent on it.

UCLA star Kevin Love put on his own show at practice Friday, hitting a full-court shot. He managed just 12 points -- and missed both open 3-pointers -- as the Bruins (35-4) again fell short in their third straight Final Four appearance.
Memphis was really good, but that means Love should prolly take more than 11 shots in the game. Or at least make more than 4...
But alas harrison barnes also left a lot to be desired for as "good" as he was supposed to be.

Yep, that's exactly what it is. And, as I said, I have no quibble with most of what you wrote.

Again, as I said, I have no quibble with most of what you wrote, I didn't even mention his NBA career. So, you're arguing with someone who agrees with you on this point.

Lol, you site one game to negate his entire college career. And yes, I remember that game. The UCLA guards got totally outplayed by the Memphis guards. Rose and Carter-Williams owned Westbrook and Collison and that's why UCLA lost.

Since Love doesn't bring the ball up the court, he relies on his guards to pass him the ball. Westbrook took 19 shots and only had 2 assists. Just ask Kevin Durant what it's like to get frozen out by Westbrook in important games. Collison was hideous in that game 1-9 FG for 2 points, 4 assists and 5 TOVs. Meanwhile, Carter Williams and Rose went off for 28 and 25 points, but it's Love's fault UCLA lost. Yeah, right.

For Game 6... If Asst Coach Lue is smart (he'll have to seek Head Coach James' approval, of course), he benches Love in favor of Mozgov. D. Groin will be amped up beyond belief, and another beefy body will help neutralize that. Mozgov was a big problem for GS last year, so give the pin headed fella a shot! Also, his long legs will help keep at least one crotch further from D. Groin's fury. Like in Jurassic Park: Lost World, when dealing with wild animals, you want your nuts up high off the ground!

It just means the league won't want to leave the Warriors short-handed, so Green will get away with whatever he wants.
