Really? I think Holton, while knowledgeable, is boring as fuck to listen to.

Agreed. He's a nice guy and knowledgeable, perfect in his current role. Listening to him for an entire game would be the audible equivalent of watching paint dry.

OB changed that post from saying "Holton" to "Bolton". As in, our color analyst would be singing "How Am I Supposed to Live Without You?" any time someone fouled out. Not to mention that he also had the lead guitarist for Black Sabbath doing play-by-play.

Which makes my comment about the audible equivalent of watching paint dry even more applicable...

I could listen to Ramsay Bolton talk for an entire game. Talk about feeding Draymond Green to his dogs and shit like that.

I'm not so sure Calabro is as much of a long shot as some people think. Yes he works for ESPN but on the radio side and when is the last time you listened to the radio broadcast of a national game? I can't imagine their ratings are all that great. Plus he loves the NW and if the rumored move to Root Sports goes through, then it makes perfect sense to have him around, as many more Seattleites will be seeing the Blazers.

As for the names on the analyst side, I agree that Smith/Berry/Anthony all have pretty cushy jobs with NBAtv and the Turner family, which makes it a pipe dream to think they'd leave for Portland.

Personally I love the idea of a Calabro/Thompson booth, as KC gives you the Seattle ties and an energy that MB could only dream to have. In Thompson you get a former Blazer, that's done work in the PDX media before, and for younger fans that might not recognize that, he's Klays dad, which might attract a few more viewers.

Well, there is that. Ok, so let's see who he follows next

Yes, Chris. We simple minded folks will be all excited that you brought in a real play by pay guy from the big city

Speak for yourself. I'll be excited if they bring someone in who is talented and paints a good story. He could be from anywhere, I don't give a shit.

IT WOULD BE GREAT IF THEY BRING A SONICS GUY AND A LAKERS GUY TO CALL PORTLAND GAMES.

I didn't get to watch many games with him calling, but I wouldn't classify him as someone who painted a good picture.
