Peoples' issues are with Mcgowan and how he handled it. The majority of us, at least.

Mcgowan can leave for all I care.

McGowan is not a smooth speaker...seems that's not his thing at all. Kind of an Anthony Perkins in "Psycho" vibe. I do think he's a guy who gets things done though. The Mikes were the guys next door you have a beer with...McGowen is the guy who works at the DMV

Many have asked, I haven't seen an answer. How do you want it handled exactly? Are they supposed to warn you personally so you are not taken aback by it? Do they need to give them some stupid farewell tour half way through the year? They wanted new guys, got to the offseason, let them go with a years pay to come. How should it be handled?

Not treating fans like crap would be a good start. People are more upset at the crap Mcgowan said than anything.

Handle it with class they did not.

That's a shit answer. How do you want them to get rid of Mike and Mike. You were flipping the fuck out before Mcgowan said anything, so that's bullshit.

It's cute, though. We're talking about two different things, and I'm the only one seeing that. I've explained myself enough. If you haven't figured it out that it's not about how they canned mike and mike and about how I think about Mcgowan (And yes, it IS two different things). I'm sorry you're yelling at me about something that I'm not even disagreeing about. But, if you need me to be your punching bag, fire away.

Stop speaking for everyone. Also, as was said, it WAS handled well. They are getting a full year's salary!

I don't even care how he "handled it", I care that he made a dumbass, bullshit decision to fire two of the best commentators in the league. But I'll say it again, FUCK CHRIS MCGOWAN.

Here is the key though Stren. Are ANY of us privy to the internal conversations between Mike, Mike, Antonio and Chris?

How do you know that Chris didn't come to them first and discuss in detail and that all parties, though a surprise, are okay with the outcome? Maybe not happy, but understanding of it being a business and came to a mutual agreement?

How do you know that Chris didn't deal with this mostly on the internal side and is only revealing a fraction of what went down? Which is very plausible knowing how tight knit on breaking news the Blazers like to be.

I was kneejerk reacting at first as well, but time has now allowed us to recoup and assess the big picture and the big picture is we don't know all the details, so we really should reserve judgment. If not you are merely assuming you know how it went down and we all know how ASSuming can start out... :)

Careful what you wish for. As a season ticket holder, I am very happy with the job he is doing.

Personally, I welcome the change. I was tiring of the Mike duo and I think Calabro is a step in the right direction.

I hope our free agency goes as well as the Calabro signing!

I really don't believe it was Mcgowan's call. I love PA as an owner, but he does like things kept quiet.......

And there's nothing wrong with keeping it quiet. That's the way it should be IMO.

Me too. In the 5 years I have been going to games regularly, the Moda has made significant improvements in almost every area, all with the fans in mind.

I don't know all the details of all his actions/changes, but I don't get the McGowan hate. Seems to be fairly ignorant hatred on the surface.

All I have read( Maybe I missed a post or two) Is "fuck this guy", "screw him". "He should go".. But no one explains why they feel this way.
    I don't get it.

Totally agree. I feel like game experience has gotten much better. Or in arena experience, I suppose. I've seen nobody who has said they hate him list anything outside of renaming the stadium.

I'm not sure how else this could have been handled. If the replacement wasn't ready to sign or be announced, there's no point in dumping the Mikes and leaving everyone in limbo.

If anything, my perception is that we found out about the Mikes being let go before the Blazers' press release. My perception could be very wrong and that the press release was the first announcement.

My perception also is that everyone I've met and talked to in the organization really cares about making things better and winning.

To those that are complaining about the "HOW" it was done......please give us the script of how it SHOULD have been done in your minds??
Please keep in mind all legalities of separating from an employee and all.

Thanks. Can't wait to read it.
