The Bulls traded Bairstow? Well, I'll be damned. I confess to having no fear of seeing Cameron showing up on the All-NBA team.

Is Dinwiddie an actual NBA player?

I see Dinwiddie went 1-10 from the 3-pt line last season. Bairstow was 1-5 which I guess is twice as good (OK, half as bad is probably more appropriate). Still, it's the biggest move of the offseason for the Bulls so far. Yipee?

More like an E'Twaun Moore replacement.

This is a small-ticket move, but that doesn't mean it doesn't have upside.

I think we can all agree Cameron doesn't have much of a future as an NBA PF. That might be true for Dinwiddie as well, but he was a better prospect coming out of college that year.

In the pros he's never been able to put the ball in the basket, but he was a good shooter in college with 2 years above 40% 3Pt shooting. He was also astute at getting to the line, where he averaged 8.9 FTA/40 his junior year, which was actually replicated in 2016 w/ a 7.5 FTA/36 min rate.

I've never seen him in the pros so I have no idea if this stuff I'm spouting off is predictive or a statistical artifact, but there's a good chance the Bulls scouted him when he came out of college and think he's worth taking a chance on.

His assist rate is very good and he doesn't seem to be a ball-stopper on offense.

His measurables are very similar to Zach Lavine: 6'4.5" in barefeet, 6'6" in shoes, 6'8 wingspan, which should give him the ability to play 1-3 fairly easily.

I think there's a good chance this signals draft intentions for Detroit. Supposedly they are high on Denzel Valentine and those two are very redundant as players so they saw the writing on the wall and unloaded him while they could. Don't ask me why they wanted Bairstow....hard to imagine anyone seeing anything in that guy.

Was just reading that the rationale for the Pistons was that Cam's contract allows them to release Joel Anthony (who averaged 1pt/1reb) and replace his slot with Cam, which would save them 2m in cap space, giving them a little more flexibility for this offseason.

Ie, it's the contract and the ability to have that player on your roster as cheaply as possible that's the value. Cam himself is a placeholder.

Also Dinwiddie supposedly wanted out because he thought his time was running out to make his mark in the league.

Assuming he can find his shot I think he's a Hoiball player. Ie, multi-positional, likes to push it in transition and is a ball-mover.

I did some checking too and from what I can see, he has a better chance of being in the league 2 years from now than does Bairstow. He's just a guy much like Justin Holiday is just a guy. Let's hope he proves to be useful.

    Better than Bairstow.

His height means no more taking advantage of our small PG's during the playoffs.

I like the trade and can't believe we may have won this one!
