Not reading this thread as I am still 1 ep. behind, but finally got HBO reordered and binge watched many episodes this weekend.
I liked the episode but this season just feels a little bit off to me. Not all that I expect from Game of Thrones.
Is it me, or are the sympathetic characters starting to win all their battles on the show? That doesn't feel like Game of Thrones to me. I still love the show, but it's starting to feel like a "normal" show where the "good guys" are not in danger of dying, ever.
Wun Wun just died. Tormund will probably die soon. They have to set it up for the battle of the bitches. Yes, GOT is all about the women. They will be the ones that rule the world
That is true, but I guess what I mean is that, everything seems to be trending in a positive direction for the Starks. I thought the story was about a chaotic and and unpredictable world where anything could happen, but turns out it was all just a big set up for the comeback of the Starks. Which is fucking rad, but I always thought the shows strength was its unpredictable story line, but now it appears that George RR Martin was just playing the long game. I still love the show but it's been more predictable lately.
Rikkon Stark, while not a major character......AT ALL, just got murdered. Margery and Tommen likely die this season
Yeah, Rikkon seemed like more of a plot device than a character. Sorry Rikkon fans. I don't find Margery and Tommen to be sympathetic characters.
You know it's weird, I find myself rooting for Cersei now because of the religious fanatics, and against her son for allying himself with them. Tommen's turn towards the faith and marginalizing his mother makes me lose sympathy for him. Jamie has become a more honorable bloke ever since his run in with Brienne. It's all topsy turvy these days.
I'm guessing Danny ends up the villain. Mad queen style. Tyrion will kill her. And lannisters as good guys? No fucking way, cersei will die a horrible fantastic death. Likely watching her last son die. Maybe sansa will keep her alive to torment her for awhile.
