Millsap is making around 18-19 million. To make the salaries work without eating cap space, you have to send out Aminu/Davis and some filler. Still that team would be pretty solid.

    Dame
    CJ
    Harkless
    Millsap
    Howard

    With Crabbe/Vonleh/Plumlee off the bench.

I just don't see how we have the players it would take to get Milsap unless they send him to us purely for a 1st round pick and cap space.

We don't have big contracts to move otherwise. What is the MOST you all would give up for him? For me it is Cav's 1st rounder plus Davis, Aminu and cap room. Which admittedly isn't a lot.

If Howard really wants to win, and his clock is ticking, going to a rebuilding ATL would be a very foolish choice.

You beat me to it. I don't think that gets it done though.

Eh.... Millsap is 30+, he's on a decently big contract... Davis is only 27 and Aminu is 25. They're both solid players who could start immediately. That's not bad value considering they just dealt Teague for a late lotto pick. Teague was an All-Star a couple years ago. Pretty funny how little value he has now.

If it gets it done then you do it no doubt. Just seems like a longshot to me (not that you shouldn't try) and I wouldn't give up anything else if they asked for more.

Youre probably right. Just more reason he fits with us.

Dallas? Thats a really tiny window with low upside.

Milwaukee? Maybe if they can find a taker for monroe.

    Orlando? Fuck no.

I could see Orlando if they were closer to being a playoff team, like as a "I'm sorry I left" type deal, but since they aren't idk why he would go back there. Dallas is the only other team that scares me for his services really. We all think they are old as shit and ready to rebuild, but Cuban could convince him to join that mess.

I don't think he has said he wants to be the focal point of the offense. He just wants to see the ball more often. And as MM said...he is a decent passer for a center. I would probbaly get a feel from the agents of Whiteside or Horford first...but one thing that Dwight would be a little better at than those two.........toughness. Not saying he is a Mo Lucas type enforcer, but we need someone to stand up for our guards.

I think Cuban is going to get him to sign with the Mavs anyway

God that would be an awful move for both Dwight AND the Mavs. Cuban needs to open up his damn eyes and realize that Dirk isn't a superstar anymore. He can't keep putting retread stars around him and hope to win a championship.

    He tried Vince Carter.

    He tried Rajon Rondo.

    He tried Deron Williams.

Dirk should be the third best player on a championship team, at best. He can't carry the load anymore. It's time to let go and blow that team up. He should have dealt Nowitzki a couple years ago when he might have still had value.

Dirk needs to do Cuban a favor and retire, Cuban is going to keep this charade going until he does.

Well, our best player is significantly better than their best player..... hell, our second best player is probably better than their best player.

If he chose Dallas over PDX then that right would prove that he wasnt ready to be the RIGHT fit for us so it would be a blessing in disguise

His time in LA and Houston might have humbled him enough to make it work here. As long he adapts to this culture and not try to transform it in to the toxic mess that was in Houston (which he owns a part of) . He could be a benefit. He still has some game.

I think if he considers this situation, I believe the culture and Blazer fans can take some credit for it. I think the series from two years ago had a lasting impression on him. From the team standpoint on how well everyone got a long and how good chemistry was. And from a fan standpoint, h could he ever forget game 6. The passion and rabidness from the fans when leaving the game.

I think it could work but he maybe too big of a ticket for Olshey.
