Our chances are higher because he's not that good. If we make him anything higher than a plan G then this offseason will already be a failure. Go big or go home.

Great role player does NOT equal max contract. Anyone that pays him max will end up regretting it.

This is my thought too. Unfortunately, while he would help us, he will likely command more than he's worth

He'd save us from paying Dwert his über max.

CJ shifted his pitch from Whiteside to Biyombo.

I agree, no way he is a MAX player. But if we can get him to a decent contract then I'm all for it. I would rather him over Dwight any day at this point in time.

I don't think we can get him for a decent contract.

Marc stein had a tweet saying people around the league thinks biyombos floor this offseason is 15 million.

I would be pissed if we gave him 15 million or more. Fuck that.

The worst part of this is that 15M may be the best case scenario. This summer is going to be crazy I am afraid.

15 mil is about to become the new reality for average starter. With a 110 mil cap next year, we should not hesitate to go up to 15-17 for Biz if we deem he can be a consistent starter.

20 mil salary in a league with 110 mil cap next year, is essentially equivalent to a little less than 13 mil in the current cap. A Biz who can give you 8pts, 10 rebs, 2.5 blks is probably worth that.

I agree with you %100. This summer will be crazy with the contract offers, and I wouldn't be surprised if Bismack gets his $15 million a year, or close to it.

Biyombo isnt worth that much though.

Id rather have teams dump players on us and give us picks as compensation for doing so.

Depends what you want from our center. If you want him to get 15 ppg and provide a post threat then Biyombo is not your guy. If you want him to rebound failed 3p and mid-range attempts from CJ, Dame and Aminu then you can count on him to do that. IMO we could make it work, especially if we get an offensive power forward.

He will be overpriced because of the cap increase and his playoff performances but it's really $4M a year that could be overboard. He would normally be a $8M player but given the circumstances he will probably go slightly above $11M. He is also so likeable.
