The Brits' appetite for exit seems to foretell the US appetite for Trump. I saw an interview with one of the brexit folks and they sounded a lot like Trump. Anti immigrant, wall around the border, etc.
Sadly, I agree with you on that. Perhaps the negative consequences of this type of thinking will be made obvious by November, but I don't count on Trump voters noticing or caring. barfo
I've only said that in about 10 different threads. The rest of the U.S. would then be a modern European country.

So is now the time to go on Amazon UK and import a bunch of region free blu rays for way cheaper than our Amazon?
Unlike the Lisbon Treaty, the US Constitution doesn't have a secession clause. I don't expect Texas is likely to go to war over it.
The lack of a clause means the 10th allows the states to secede. http://www.ibtimes.com/texas-secession-brexit-inspires-nationalists-leave-us-texit-vote-2386446 Texas Secession: Brexit Inspires Nationalists To Leave US In ‘Texit’ Vote
No need to go to war. There is nothing in the Constitution to cause them a problem leaving. Obama would not have the stomach for it, just because Lincoln made that error.
Since the late 1700s the Brits believed they are better than the Americans. Time and time again they are proven wrong but do not learn from it. All the recent glee about the upcoming US election and then they go and Trump themselves ...
Well I think most of Ulster are pretty much in line with their clansmen in Scotland. Many of the Orangemen have clan members on both sides of the North Channel. Although the industrial areas of Antrim, Belfast voted to leave the EU like the similar areas of England. Globalization is affecting them just like the workers in this country. Reducing them to part time workers in a global society with an excess of labor available. The elite can move the work to the low cost area unimpeded by boarders. Indeed, governments will continue to seek the work for their constituents, competing to offer the sweetest deals to the global employers. A crappy way to run a country, the word is getting around.
umm, and during this period, more of them have immigrated to this country than there are on their Islands. But then, I do know a couple of those of which you speak.
