Yup... it's not the players fault. Honestly, it's a miracle that contracts have stayed this low for this long. Shaq and KG signed those 120+ contracts back in the mid 90's. The owners have kept the contracts manageable for close to 20 years, meanwhile the teams are skyrocketing in value. This was only fair.

I wouldn't, I personally don't have that kind of money. Wish I did though...

Unless he perfectly fits our long term plans then losing people is the name of the game. If we don't have a plan for our identity going forward, then we're not going to succeed either way.

If the 20m plus mark is his max, then I change my tune to "no".

If it between 10-12 million I would consider it but anything higher I would let him go. It really don't matter how high the cap is if you don't want to go over luxury tax signing your own people after you try to sign other FA. Do I think all the RFA we own get sign no.

I see Crabbe or Leonard in LA for the lakers. After they get whiteside they need shooters on the bench and they can afford to overpay since all their talent is on rookie deals

With the weak talent pool combined with the huge bump in cap....

In any other era Crabbe is a MLE guy.

Seems a bit immature at times but he is in a crazy place in florida, but I don't think he is too far off.

Y'all are overestimating his value. It doesn't matter what his max is, he isn't getting it from us or anybody else in the league. 3 and D guys are sought after in situations when you can get multiple of them for cheap so that everyone who touches the ball can hit a three or make the extra pass. It makes no sense even for these moneyball guys to pay max dollar for a slightly above average one in Crabbe when the dude wasn't even consistent in the large quantity of minutes he was given this season. Yes there were days where he looked like a poor man's Klay. But don't forget the days we were ripping him for being timid and worthless on the court.

The reason Danny Green got decent money was because he had multiple years of being one of the most reliable 3pt shooters in the league and had clutch performances in the playoffs.

I think the Lakers want Westbrook next year, so if they can't get the top players they want this year, I don't think they will throw money at our free agents, or any other average player. They need a star to go with those young players.

I bet they think a Whiteside, Clarkson, Ingram, Randle starting 4 can entice Westbrook to join. Personally I think they will still need need a SG, but regardless i think they will be wise with their Cap space. I don't think they would over pay for Crabbe

Oh my god dude, are you drunk right now? A max offer for Allen Crabbe? Scratch your name of the list of potential GMs to replace Olshey.

Not a chance we'd match a max offer for Crabbe. That would be the easiest question for Olshey all summer.

How about a sign-and-trade? Is that something we should be seeking?

    Crabbe to Philly for Okafor?

Would I match a Max $22M contract offer for Crabbe? No.

I would only go up to about $16M/yr. Even matching this probably precludes re-signing Leonard too. We will be paying McCollum $22 next summer folks. Or trading him. There's little room in between.

Sign Whiteside or Biyombo to large contracts this summer. Re-sign Crabbe (14) and Harkless (9) and hopefully Leonard (14). That's max for these guys UNLESS we strike out with major FA. Then, resign them and plan to trade them later.
