I was hoping your picture was a reference to knowledge you had.

Yup, and the hush-hush strategy they're employing right now would lean more towards trying to get Dwight. If teams don't suspect that we're trying to get him, they might think he'll be there as a second option. So like, if Atlanta loses Horford, they would turn to Howard, but maybe Neil is hoping to lock him up immediately. Go to Dwight and offer 25 or something in that ballpark. Try to get him to commit while other teams are chasing Durant and Horford.

    Literally none

If I were a betting man, Howard and Parsons would be odds on favorite for me as what the Blazers WILL do, not should

Whiteside and Bazemore. Or Biyombo/Mahinmi and Bazemore, more like.

I'm resigning myself to Howard; I like Parsons as the second move. We would have a very potent front line for as long as they could stay on the court.

    Because Whiteside is unlikely?

I'm just not seeing how we're gonna make a second move. At least a second free agent....

Let's say we get Howard to take a pretty massive paycut and even sign for 20 million a year. That still only gives us like 7 million in cap space without cutting Crabbe/Harkless/Leonard.

Obviously if we cut Leonard or the other guys we will have more money, but I don't really see that happening.

Now a trade on the other hand..... if we could get Howard to sign for 20-22 million, having that extra cushion could give us the space to make a lopsided trade. I'm hoping Horford leaves and the Hawks blow it up.

If Horford leaves and we sign HW.... Sign and Trade Biebs for Bazemore would be amazing.

Although it does seem somewhat likely, I don't want to get my hopes up for Whiteside. Besides from money side I don't think we can afford to get Bazemore if we get Whiteside.

How is this amazing?! Trade a uninque unicorn player like Meyers, who is just 24, and little bit of confidence away from being legit for a 6'5" undersized SF journeyman that can't shoot??? This is the new worst idea I have ever seen on this board... What's with the small thinking in here? Do you want a mediocre team or to go for a championship??? Bazemore is a downgrade over Crabbe and Harkless... Rather keep the cap room for next year than throw it away on a useless player like Bazmore!

At this time he isn't, but he has all the tools and has shown flashes... The only thing he is really lacking is confidence. At 24 years old, we shouldn't be ready to give up on him... Especially for a dime a dozen player like Kent Bazemore!

As for you laughing the unicorn reference, how many other players are in the league that are 7'1", athletic, and can shoot 50/40/90? I'll wait for your list...

Have you seen his recent numbers? He's a spot up shooter. He cant rebound, he cant guard other 4s, dont get me wrong hes ok but I wont think twice to pass up on him for anything more than 10M bucks

    sorry

I'm not saying he is untradable or to re-sign at any price... But to give up on him at age 24 for a mediocre guy like Kent Bazemore is ridiculous.

I applaud your blind fanaticism regarding trade bait. I wish I could go back to my youth and believe in myths like him also. Serious post.

Do you remember how long some people clung to the idea of Greg Oden?

It just became so obvious to me after the second injury that he was never going to be the guy that we thought he was going to be.
