When I was watching it at the restaurant we were at after the game, the lakers were playing great and they were right with them. Maybe they are tired after their game with the spurs...who knows. Since LA has played great agaisnt them all year, I thought this one would be closer.</div>2nd game of a back to back on the road against the best team in the league without your starting PF and Center? I was hoping for this one but I wasn't expecting it.

Not one of the better situations that you can walk in to.....hahaI was hoping that the lakers would win as well, but I was doubtful. They have just plyed so good against Dallas this season, so I was kinda in a way waiting to see them play like that again. Howard was playing way too good and the Mavs just couldnt miss is what it seemed like. You cant win them all....Especaially when you play the best team in the NBA.

God dammit. I fell asleep in the first quarter of this one. The last thing I remember is a big block by Diop. I haven't fallen asleep at 10-10:15 pm for as long as I can remember.

Kobe scored 52 points on 26 shotsScored 53 points on 37 shots in a double ot gameInfact, kobe scored 62 points against the mavericks and only took 33 shots :winkglasses:

Kobe scored 62 but that was before Dallas got George and Buckner. It won't happen again.

Kobe showed in the 4th, two consecutive plays which he left devean in the dust.Buckner is a good defender, I must admit. But again, you claim raja bell is a great defender. Kobe scored 51 on him. When kobe is in the zone and in the mentality to score no-one can even slow him down. The only way you can is throw doubles at him.

Kobe is a jump shooter. In that case you want someone tall to blind Kobe a little. George might not be able to handle quicker guards like Wade but against players like Kobe George is just fine. You are underrating how good of a defender George is now. I don't remember him being this great in LA but he sure has been great in Dallas on defense.

Torced bowen multiple times and scored inside.Kobe is too quick for devean george. George in 2 consecutive possesions got blown by. I mean literally blown by. Kobe used to toy with him.

Unfortunately it isn't just a 1 on 1 game. Kobe was met at the basket by Dallas's twin towers. (Dirk and Dampier) Kobe chose to shoot many times over George's length which than failed. Buckner was all over Kobe as I've seen. Most people would say George did the best of all the mavs defenders. You can live in your own Disney Land. lol

Again, kobe scoed 40 on tayshaun prince last season. Prince has the widthspan of a 7 footer. Kobe abused AK on jumpers also. Devean george's length had nothing to do with it.Also kobe averaged 28 points per game against the mavericks. That's about his average. I think you need to understand that kobe's mentality is way different this year.

Neither of those things happened last night. He didn't take over because he either didn't have a winning spirit or just plain couldn't. There is no other explanation that makes sense. You really didn't answer my question, anyway. You just rabbit trailed. Is your theory that Kobe thought they could overcome the 20-something point deficit with teamwork so he didn't bother trying?

He has been sticking to the team philoshophy all season long in all situations. Again, we won't going to win playing kobe ball. We got massacred on the boards. We had the lead with kobe only taking 3 shots. Kobe went out and we lost the lead. He scored more in the 2nd and 3rd and yet we kept on losing. Now logic tells me that something else is the problem.Maybe a +30 on the boards was the problem?edit; Reemeber, we had the lead playing team ball.
