Let Myers walk he is not worth the contract he wants plain and simple but IF i was the GM i would offer the following and IF he takes it great if not thank him for his time and wish him luck with whatever team he signs with.

2 yrs for 14m and i am being generous and factoring in the cap spike if not for the cap spike it would be more like 2 yrs for 10m to 12m

The official figures were never released from our extension offer last year. Multiple posters on here have heard thats the figure that was offered to him. We even talked about it some at the meet and greets. Join us next time :)

    Here is a mention

Type meyers leonard 4 years 60 million into google and youll get hits talking about it. Where were you when this was discussed?

^^^It all stemmed from an off-the-cuff remark by some other team's (CHA?) commentators. Basically it's BS. But if people repeat it enough it must be true!

Not totally true. There are posters on this site that have stated theyve heard from people in thr organization it was true.

Doesnt necessarily mean it is, but its interesting nonetheless.

I disagree. If We land either of those guys we need as many guys as possible who can play PF/SF. We won't need a huge PF. (i.e., we need them both.)

I don't recall that. I'd also like to know who these posters are - there are very few that I'd be inclined to believe.

You know who else was awful at D? Zach Randolph. But he eventually played on one of the top defensive teams in the league.

Meyers is not "awful" at defense - he's simply limited. He does some things very well, and there are other areas where he could improve to above average. But he's never going to be able to guard PFs or perimeter players. To say he's awful because of these limitations is dumb. What's awful is having a coach putting him in those defensive situations - a hammer is an awful tool to use on screws, but a great tool to use on nails.
