Most teams with highly coveted RFA's put out comments like that to try to dissuade other teams from making offers, suggesting that those teams would be tying up their cap space fruitlessly. I hope it works.
Besides age, this is the main reason I put Whiteside above Howard. The latter was allergic to the pnr last year and the former was maybe the best pnr finisher in the league. I also like Whiteside's mid range potential and ft% advantage.
if we are striking out on the Top centers like Whiteside and Howard perhaps Neil helps OKC clear capspace for Horford (rumor) and picks up Kanter and Sabonis for capspace and Plumlee? Then we go after a cheaper defensive C like Aldrich or Mahinmi
This sounds great in theory, but you look through the box scores in the playoffs, how many teams actually have a 10+ player rotation? It's hard for a team to find its groove and maximize its skills by playing their best guys for 20 mins each instead of 30+.
No he's not. He's an idiot. Go read a 49er board. They literally have a thread about him being a dick towards the team
The team that beat us. Goldenstate used Bogut, Ezele, and Speights against us in the playoffs. (and for most of the season when healthy) Plus they often went small with Green.
I keep forgetting about Blake! I definitely think LAC will be trading him, and - despite the hate he gets - he'd be a pretty good target for us. I'm not sure what we'd have to send out in order to get him, but I'd certainly be more interested in Blake than Monroe or Rubio/Pek. Even though he keeps slipping my mind I think he's my #2 trade target behind DMC. If we sign Whiteside or Howard I'll be a bit surprised, but will also be fairly content. But I still think our best bet for improving the roster is through trades: DMC Blake Monroe Rubio/Pek I'd take all of these over signing Biyombo or Barnes.
I mentioned that if we struck out on other centers perhaps a Kanter/Sabonis trade for Capspace/Plumlee
Here's why it's a fools errand for OKC to chase Horford - why would Horford commit to OKC without KD? If Durant signs a one year deal (as many expect him to do), why would Horford want to hitch his wagon to that possible scenario? I don't see it happening.
