If he can play healthy and how he was playing, it's worth it. We just saw mozgov get a stupid deal. It's just how it's gonna be. We can renounce everybody but keep crabbe and moe. Grab somebody else
"W/ a face only a mother could..." well... actually... probably not. BUT... I'd still like to see him w/ us!
That's one hell of a risk...we have had to many bad knees here already....what happened to Whiteside....we are throwing away the steak to get the chicken? Really?
I'm comin around to this. We have to get over the numbers here. 22 mil is the new reality for an above average starter. 22 mil now will become 25 mil next year. Or in the 2015 cap, it would have been 14.3 mil. It's a bit high, but nothing unexpected. The sticker shock will wear off. If healthy, this guy offers us another playmaker from a wing or 4 position and plays above average defense, and can shoot the ball. The versatility he provides with AC/Aminu/Hark is not something every team has. I really hope our medical staff has done the due diligence We just need a rim protecting big. Come on, Neil.
I still want steak! However, IF we're out w/ Whiteside (which IDK if we r yet), I'd settle for Biyombo & getting our Moe back!
It costs the same cap space either way. No loopholes like that in the CBA. We could give Dallas a big TPE in a S&T, but we'd do it only to get Parsons a 5 year deal.
Well we offered Parsons 4 years at 96 I think...welcome to Portland Chandler! We landed a top tier free agent if he takes the deal...curse over
Just got home - skipped to the last couple pages of a few threads. Did we really offer Parsons a MAX contract? I suppose that's par for the course as far as my opinion of Olshey's free agencies are concerned. Basically: not thrilled. However, if Parsons is done with his injuries I'll change my tune - he's a good player, just not someone I'd consider (a) giving a max contract to, or (b) target as our biggest need. I'd much rather have waited everything out and made a trade. Hopefully we don't compound this potential mistake by trying to get Biyombo - the only saving grace is that we don't have the cap space to make such a stupid signing. Though at this point I don't know if I'd be that surprised if we renounced our RFAs to have the ability to do something even more stupid. Eh - I'll probably be over it by the morning, and see the potential positives by noon.
