Dan Fegen (Parsons' agent) also represents: -Varejao (the guy PA just paid an insane amount of money, and allowed to go chase a ring) -Sasha Pavlovic (the guy we paid when no one else was giving him $) -Rubio -- hmm -Boogie and.... Larry Sanders
You have a weird definition of "major knee surgery". He's a couple facts for you: In spite of two, so called "major knee surgeries", Parsons has never missed more than 21 games in a season. His most recent surgery was on March 25 and he's already been cleared to resume all basketball activities: "Sources say multiple renowned orthopedic specialists have given Parsons clearance to resume full basketball activities and expressed optimism that his knee would not prevent him from having a long, productive NBA career." You don't come back and get cleared for full basketball activities a couple months after "major knee surgery". This isn't an Oden situation, or a Roy situation. Parson's hasn't had the kind of injuries that have caused him to miss multiple seasons, or even more than 1/4 of a season. And you thought the Blazers should go after Festus Ezeli, a guy who has missed 154 of 246 regular season games over the last three seasons. If you're going to be Debbie Downer, can you at least be consistent? BNM
He's still meeting with Memphis, Lakers and Orlando, correct? This is far from done, he will get max offers from all of them in all likelihood.
Hybrid microfracture surgery and a meniscus surgery on the same right knee. It's not like a tonsillectomy And I'm all for Parsons. Just not for the max. Seems stupid to give a guy the max after two consecutive seasons with games played in the 60's and two "minor" LOL knee surgeries
Oh I forgot. Mike Miller, another guy we paid and set free: represented by Dan Fegan. Looking through the list of guys Olshey gave favors to... Brendan Haywood: represented by Andy Miller. Miller also has Porzingis as one of his clients, and Neil was the first to meet with KP before the draft last year. And another one of his clients is Austin Rivers, who we apparently will meet with today. Brian Roberts also an Any Miller guy. He also reps Nerlens Noel. Can you guys think of anyone else that Neil did a solid for? Maybe that can give us a clue as to who we might be granted meetings with
@JonesOnTheNBA Are you worried about the connection Parsons-Conley? If Portland miss on Parsons who's left? Nate Jones@JonesOnTheNBA Nate Jones Retweeted Massimo Number 1 choice/team offered him max. That usually is a good sign
Jesus, going down this agent rabbit hole to look for clues is maddening. So many favors and bullshit going on behind the scenes. I think Neil having a good rapport with agents is huge.
Dude Parsons has bad knee problems why would you want to pay max for that? Let him go to Memphis and do us a favor

I like Olshey's game plan when it comes to FA's. Not sure it will ever work to bring in a big time guy, but doing favors for agents is a good approach for a small market team, IMO. If Sac trades Boogie at some point, it will be nice knowing Fagen probably gives Olshey a call.
