You guys are bashing Neil.... he tried to get quality guys. They don't want to play here. That is pretty obvious. This is our reality. We apparently live in the NBA wasteland.
ooph. thats just plain silly. looks like stotts missed batums playmaking at the sf spot, and got himself a batum that cant shoot 3s.
Turner is a solid Blazer....er role player, but he con't shoot, and I'm not sure his defense is a huge upgrade over Crabbe. Seems like a panic move, but I am going to wait and see the finished product before laughing at most of you for believing things would be different
75 million for a guy in his 8th year, past his prime who has averaged only 10ppg+ 3/7 years. No thanks.
Kevin Pelton - ESPN Staff Writer "Safe to say that when we determine if some team can be this year's Portland in getting value free agents, it won't be the Blazers."
It's 70. That leaves enough space for.... Austin Rivers. Oh Good Lord. In 24 hrs, Neil has gone down from GOAT to goat among Blazer GMs.
He deserves it. If you figure out portland cant sign guys, you use your cap space in other ways instead of signing shitty players to one of the worst contracts in the league. Fuck you olshey.
Should have went for trades instead of giving that much out for this guy! Seems like a panic move to me.
Well, let's look at the positives; this contract will be moveable if need be, he is a good defender, he gets to the basket, he is kind of an Iggy-type player.
Yup - preserve the cap flexibility for trades. And this is why I keep saying that Free Agency should be the last resort for improving the roster. The draft and trades are far more useful tools for us.
