I do cart wheels if we get Turner for 14 MIL a year. 17.5 a year though is too much and I move to another plan if I was Olshey.
My response What a sad day to be a Blazers fan man, this is worse than signing no one. I wish we had no one instead of Turner, he is the worst.
Looks to me as if we renounced the usual four plus Leonard and Harkless, we would still have enough for a max 6 year player; we would have almost 23 million.
honestly, the money is a little high, but i like his game as well. saw him play a bunch at sports bars out here
I like Evan Turner a lot. Don't know if he's worth this money but I watched a few times with Boston and was impressed. He scored a game winner against us iirc. I like this signing
We went from a guy who could definitely be a legit third scoring option (Parsons) to a guy that's certainly not a third scoring option.
We went over the advantages of adding Turner 2 months ago. Just not for that kind of money. He fills some needs. You guys are just pissed because you thought you were getting more. Eventually you will find out this is a good addition. He is a wing who can guard multiple positions and can run the offense while playing with either Dame or CJ. This is how Boston used him. I posted an article about it at the time. Stevens loves him. Good mid range jumper too
I don't blame him for reloading but if this is his major acquisition then I blame him for misreading the free agent market. If he's using the only methods of acquiring for future talent with essentially bargain shopping... all the time knowing there is no way in hell he can sign a major quality free agent, "while saying we are working towards building a CHAMPIONSHIP...." that's dishonest. He's blowing smoke up our ass. Just like McGowan who says hiring the ex-Sonics is saying this is "not about the Seattle market!" Basically, don't piss in my pocket and tell me it's just raining.
Thank God for the Bucks. They're about to sign Dellavadova to 38M/4, just to make us look slightly less bad...I think...
