<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Philadelphia Inquirer -Eddie Jones would like to follow the same blueprint as Chris Webber: Escape from a team that has a shot at the No. 1 overall draft pick to an organization that can contend for an NBA title.Jones, the former Temple star now playing for the Memphis Grizzlies , admitted last night that there was a chance he could be waived. The Grizzlies have the NBA's worst record at 10-30."There's a lot of truth to it," Jones said, referring to rumors that he was heading out of Memphis. "I want to play for a team to try to win a championship... ."I can't tell you much more than there's a possibility I could get waived. We'll figure out what I do after that."But he added, "I would definitely welcome" a change.</div>
There was a story on the Cavs needing to get some help for James. This may not be a huge help, but Jones off the bench would be great for us. Cavaliers for sure need to check him out.
I wouldnt expect him to get waived untell after the trade deadline. His contract is expiring, alot of teams would like that.
Miami should go after Eddie Jones. I thought he was a great fit there not having to carry the offense.
I wouldn't be suprised if Joe Dumars went after Eddie Jones as well. We are currently shopping some of our players around for a player of his position, and he obviously still has game. I would welcome Joe Dumars throwing an offer at him, and I think with the Webber signing it could possibly attract Jones to the Pistons.
I agree that he prolly won't be waived until after the trade deadline. They could prolly trade him and get something decent in return.
That doesen't mean he's going to be a release for sure, he just wants a change in the franchise, either way I dont give a crap because he is an old hag and he has played horrible this year.
If those reports about Gasol not really being 100% happy, and Memphis wants to bring him some help, Eddie's contract would be a big asset for a trade at (or around) the deadline. They could package his contract with a couple players and possibly get a pretty solid player in return (if other teams are willing to bite). So, I think they would be stupid to waive him before the deadline. They should shop him, they'll get something.
Honestly, the Lakers could use his leadership and defense right now.Plus his three. I mean how many time have you seen Kobe drive lately, and dudes are wide open around the perimeter? ALOT. And Kobe is seeing them. EJ would feast off of this.
If Laker Management didn't hold such a grudge against him(for some reason I don't know) I think Eddie Jones returning would be a great idea.

Ive wanted to waive EJ since Gasols been hurt(btw,, Gasol has said again he isnt asking to be traded, hes said teams just go through this sometimes....one of the reasons our record is bad is cause he was hurt...Gasol isnt a idiot to where he would leave cause HE was hurt). If we cut Eddie Jones, his salary will still be with us...alotve people get that totally wrong that his expiring wont still be with us(if your waive, somebody can pick his salary up though). To tell you the truth, he hasnt been that good at all this season, hes recently played nice D and hit a couple threes...but hes not helping nor hurting us. The most valuable thing about him is his salary. And Jerry West has said hes not going to trade EJ(mentioned it when asked about AI coming to Memphis). He has his eyes set on a free agent(I hope like hell some how we get Billups....)cause we will have alotve cap room this off season.I just wanna say Gasol would be stupid to leave, or ask to be traded. Were going to have a lotto pick in the draft that people are saying is stacked with good players. Like I said, we have money for a major free agent. A new coach, probably selected to the likings of Gasol. Warrick, Gay and Lowry will be coming back and most likely have improved. Memphis is going to be scary next year, Gasol wouldnt be smart to leave....so stop with the stupid rumors about him for VC and stuff.
Eddie Jones looks fat and out of shape. He's really let himself go. Obviously he can still shoot, because if you can shoot you can shoot. I don't think there is going to be as big of a demand for him as most think in this thread. He'd be very lucky to find himself in a contending rotation. I guess that southern Memphis cooking was too good for him.
This is one vet I wouldn't mind seeing Miami going after. They've got some old connections, I think they should reunite. I don't know if ej has any harsh feelings from being traded tho.<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>Eddie Jones looks fat and out of shape. naw, he was disappointed, but no harsh feelings. I would like this, any teams EJ leaves tends to win the Finals lol
