$6.295M in cap space to use, plus the Room Exception. He also has flexibility to find more cap space if he renounces or doesn't match Leonard and/or Harkless. There are still a lot of FAs out there. If $21.2M gets us upgrades over Harkless and Leonard or a bigger FA than $6.3M buys, it could be an even better offseason for us and Neil.
Like I said in another thread. I am going to wait and see what the final product looks like before seriously calling for his head
Of course he's not done.....shopping off the rack. The problem is, how much he's now paying for bench players.
The LT is $116M. The Blazers can use the $6.3M in cap space and sign their FAs for ~$22M before hitting the LT. Of concern is the down the road problem of CJ's raise. He might get $22M all by himself

Neil is a used car salesman... Period. We all keep falling for his hype. It's nice to have a competitive team but if you have no chance at title what is the point.
For Godsakes, man. We need a rim protector in the worst way. Use your brain, Neil. That was the #1 priority coming into the offseason, and you spent the bulk of our capspace on a Gerald Henderson replacement. This is stupidity
We spent a lot of time trying to figure out how to make Parsons/Howard work. Well, Turner is making about 5 million less than Parsons. Maybe Howard is still the target?
He may not be done, but I'm gonna criticize the moves until he makes them make sense. At this point he's not going to sign better free agents. And if he renounces our RFAs he'll just be compounding the mistake(s) he's already made. But if he's able to make it all come together by training camp I'll change my tune.
Sounds good to me. But the thinking was Parsons was the lure to get Howard, and Howard hasn't exactly shown interest. That said, we can still trade for a Parsons caliber player.
It's interesting that we signed Turner for just about the amount it took to only renounce the rights to Kaman and Roberts. We still have a ton of flexibility and options. We still have the CAP hold for Henderson at $9.0M to either entice him to come back or bring someone else in at that price range. We could bring all of our restricted free agents back (Crabbe, Harkless, and Leonard). Or we could renounce all of their rights, and have about $26.1M still to spend. I like the player Evan Turner, but I'm not excited about the price. Although his price hasn't limited the Blazers ability to make some additional significant moves. Come on Olshey!
I'm having flash backs to people flipping shit last FA. What happened that time, can someone remind me?
Possibly. And the bonus (to you) is that if Biyombo were signed, Leonard would probably be the guy that we would renounce to make that happen.
We need a 3rd scorer and a defensive anchor. We just spent most of our $$ on someone who fits neither of these. We will likely not get what we need in free agency, so yes, let's hope Neil has a trade up his sleeve.
