You really think they spent all this money on Evans, and then they're going to match the equally large contracts that Moe and Crabbe get? And keep Aminu? Why on earth would they do that?
If they were traded they would no longer be on the team, correct? So we'd be losing at minimum two of them... The point is that we are currently not better than last year due to signing and overpaying for a role player.
horford and howard. need these two to pick a spot to land so the trades begin. if both are in atlanta Splitter becomes odd man out, and an absorable 8 million $ target. was pursued as a RFA by NO. before spurs traded him for capspace to sign LA. defesive metrics star a couple of seasons ago in san antonio
can't be traded until Dec 15 (assuming re-signed). Yes, I can think of worse fates than being a non-lux-tax team that has at its disposal Dame, CJ, Turner, Crabbe, Hark, Aminu, Leonard, Davis, Plumlee and Vonleh as the 10th man. Add in end-of-bench lotto tickets like Montero, Patty Ice and Cliff, and we've upgraded a rotation that was a Western Conf Semifinalist. As for injuries, unless it's to Dame (knock on wood) you're basically covered from all angles. You have young, skilled trade fodder at the 2,3,4 and 5.
A contract like Aminu has here for a starter will never be seen again...we need him on the roster and we need his defense
No, we don't "need" him. Neil just signed his replacement unless he plans on having Aminu be the PF, but we don't even "need" him there either. Another team will like his contract too, which is precisely why we could trade him for cap space and sign an impact player at a position of need.
Umm to still have a winning team overall that can provide quality entertainment to those of us who watch all 82 games? Some people here act as if we don't win then we are a loser. Yes only one team wins every year. How many teams have never won? Just because you don't win it doesnt mean that you sucked, or it was a loss, or wasted or whatever. As a fan who pays to see this team play, I want entertainment and a solid team on the floor excites me much better than tanking for a few years to possibly have the same thing happen. Its not as black and white for everyone as some of you may think....
Probably catch some heat for this, but I think signing Hibbert for cheap would be a total Olshey move. Hibbert seems to be a forgotten name after falling off a bit in IND and having to play for the shit show in LA which even further hurt his reputation. Kind of get the feeling that Hibbert could be had for acorns, and we all know Olshey has had interest in Hibbert in the past.
I wonder if Neil is calling PHX with the offer of taking Chandler as long as they send a first rounder back with him.
We still need a consistent third scorer. Parsons would have been perfect, so what's the next move? Kanter or Monroe would be a consistent scorer, if nothing else.
He's worth more to us than his cap space and we can't replace him without spending way more...just makes zero sense
Do people on this forum scream at the TV every time a scene ends, yelling "But I don't know what will happen next! It's too much!" Before turning off the TV?
