Yeah the Pelicans are making some straight up dumb deals. They should've traded Tyreke for a future 1st and Jrue+Asik for another 1st Round Pick. Then they could've tanked and used those picks to add good, young, CHEAP talent that would be better than Moore and Hill even as rookies. Oh, and they'd have approximately $60M in cap space next year, in a better free agent class with less competition. Instead they'll be spending $20M per year on E'twaun Moore and Solomon Hill. Man I wish I was their GM.
Okay lol. My sources (aka the internet lol) have told me that they've been selling Durant on a Big 4. I don't think they'd be able to convince Durant to sign if Griffin wasn't there.
This is why it's hard to get upset at the Turner contract. EVERYONE is getting paid ... there will be no Aminu/Davis bargains this summer.
Good news for the Hawks: Kent Bazemore had bigger offers from the Lakers and another team and turned them down to re-sign with the Hawks. Bad news for the Hawks: it was for $70M over 4 years (i.e., Wes Matthews/Evan Turner money) Worse news for the Hawks: this essentially slams the door on Al Horford, who looks likely to end up in Boston.
We can take on at least 6-8 mil of salary without doing anything. If we let one of Meyers or Moe go, we can open up 14-16 mil. I'd do that in a heartbeat for Millsap
Really hope we are looking into Atlanta and their situation with Horford. They are shopping Milsap it seems like
Or try and get in a three way with a team that wants Millsap... Maybe Cleveland? POR: Kevin Love+Rights to Cedi Osman CLE: Paul Millsap ATL: 'Rouq Aminu
So would I, but does Millsap want us? I think he'd rather go to Cleveland and who better than us to pick up the hometown kid on the super cheap?
Given that we talk to Millsap first and he says he'd give us first chance at resigning him: Atlanta Gets: Al-Farouq Aminu, Ed Davis Brooklyn Gets: Tiago Splitter, 2017 ATL 1st Portland Gets: Paul Millsap We could keep all our RFAs, Atlanta clears $15M while getting two valuable role players, and Brooklyn only takes on $8M to get a first round pick.
