I'm not tripping. Yeah they could be really good, and odds are they will be. But this shit could also not work out for them, odds are this won't be the case, but I hope it will.

Yep. Gotta get a franchise tag for small markets, fix the state tax issue and implement a hard cap.

Now I'm not salty we chose Oden. KD fucked OKC worse.

Also i never said Hark was the answer all i said is HE might be able to help them more against the Warriors new lineup then let's say a Crabbe because Hark has length and is a better defender and should only get better.

    Hello darkness, my old friend
It took some foresight to set things up such that they could absorb Durant. They didn't extend Barnes last year because they wanted to keep the cap space open. They signed guys that would expire this year, like Speights and Barbosa and Livingston (though they'll likely keep Livingston if they can find a buyer for Bogut). Even Bogut is an expiring contract next year, so he shouldn't be super hard to move. Obviously, it took some luck too--they got Curry on a bargain deal due to signing him when his health-related value was lowest, but that also proved to be a smart gamble.

I don't think "deciding to sign Durant if he's willing" counts as brilliant, but they set this up intelligently and obviously made a great sales pitch to a guy who said he was "90% sure" he was returning to Oklahoma City.

    Here was the meeting:

GSW: "We have Curry, Thompson, and Green.... Sorry about Adams, again."

Durant: "Okay. Talk to you on Monday."

There has to be something done so that a small market team losing a franchise type player is compensated in someway. To just keep having players leave over and over does nothing to make the league better. Can't imagine how boring this season will be with it's feel of fait accompli.

Minnesota says hi. They won't suck this year. Utah won't either. Hell, OKC won't either if they keep Westbrook

So, how many players are going to accept minimum wage--I mean Arby's minimum wage--to play for the Warriors?

I will try to think of some fitting curses to bring down on Durant and GSW.

A plague on both your houses

Wow. This has become a trend with this generation of NBA players. Say what you want about the cap, but these guys are choosing less money to join super teams. It reminds me of when I was a kid playing soccer at recess. The teams were totally random, and many times kids would defect to the winning team, and we'd end up with funny situations where it was like 40 on 3.

Durant talks alot about being a "man" but how manly is it to join a team that just whipped you so you can ride their coat tails to a championship. Wow, what a champion you will be Durant. Enjoy that ring.

Maybe they do need to get rid of the max to make it so super stars are less likely to conglomerate to one team. Maybe taking 20 mil less per year will be harder to pass up than 5 or whatever?

Also, I think the nba should have a "franchise player" designation like in the NFL. That would help with this situation as well.
