Clearly this has rendered next season pointless as far as the championship, but at least we can grab the division banner next season.
I have a feeling Dame always believes our team has a chance and will keep on fighting the good fight.
The Wolves will be significantly more difficult to beat. The Jazz have improved as well. Nothing is guaranteed. Even the Thunder are still talented. They acquired Oladipo and they still have RW.
That Oladipo trade is looking even better now. If they played like the Sonics of old they could be really fun.
I have my doubts. Who is their 3 point bomber ala Ray Allen? They lost Ibaka and Durant - which were among their better 3 point shooters. Basically they are left with Morrow as their only high percentage, high volume 3 point shooter. They are going to be interesting to see, but more likely to miss the playoffs than be a force imho - it is basically the year they missed the playoffs without Durant all over again, but without Ibaka as well and with the addition of Oladipo and Kanter as scorers. They could still make the playoffs, but they are more likely to be rather low imho, assuming Westbrook does not go into early grumpy phase wanting out.
I know what Dame is thinking: An improved NW Division will be good practice for us. Just keep grinding and getting better, because you never know who will go down unexpectedly for whatever reason.
The Blazers are favorites for the division crown ........ Right after the league made divisions meaningless
The Timberwolves are going to be in the playoffs next season, maybe even the Jazz, as long as Neil doesn't screw things up to much more, we are up at the top
