I was going on Turner's words that the Blazers would have him start alongside CJ and Dame. Plus we're paying him starter money now. I doubt we send CJ to the bench. I don't think it's even a question that Aminu and/or Harkless have to move over to play more PF. If they don't, at least one of them won't see the floor until someone gets injured. We have versatility and decent depth already. We don't have star power in the front court.
Remember how OKC were the epitome of how to succeed in a small market? Tank then draft brilliantly. And now they've been fucked. Perhaps there is no hope for small markets at all.
Remember, folks: there was ONE talented lanky small forward free agent who signed back with his small market team. Nic Batum! Shame we traded him last year, really.
That quote by Turner was corrected. They said "would be given the opportunity to start alongside CJ and Dame". IMO you don't worry about "starter money", just minutes. He will get 30 minutes regardless if he starts or not. I am CJ's biggest supporter, and even for him I don't care if he starts or not, he will also get 30 minutes regardless.
Meh, there's only one ball on the court. The Warriors won 73 games without Durant last year and didn't win the title. How much better are they going to be really? Durant is good and all that, but he takes away shots from Curry, Thompson and Green so it evens out in the end. I don't think they are going to own the league any more than they would have without him. You can have all the talent in the world, and still a championship can often come down to one or two clutch shots. Durant isn't the most clutch player in the world, and I would rather him taking those shots instead of Curry.
OKC fanboy philosophy: "Option #5. Move the franchise back to Seattle where they won't mind the rebuild It’s amazing how fast a fan base goes from starving for a team to entitled."
The main benefit for them is that they can rest their stars plenty and still have two or three stars on the court at all times. They can always have three of Curry, Thompson, Green or Durant on the court at all times. Last year, the only way they could have three stars on the court all the time was by playing their three stars 48 minutes per game, which wasn't possible. Against weaker teams, they can rest their stars even more and still have two stars on the court at all times. That's a pretty gigantic benefit.
Not really. San Antonio is like a small island in of the biggest growing metro areas of the US. They will point this out to you when your ask them why they deserve an "NFL franchise." Portland is actually just Portland. San Antonio is also on the way to Houston.
Exactly right. I was just going to hop on and say "Fuck D*llas". Then again, I'm a Skins fan, so those are two words go together easily. Seriously, what the f*** was he thinking? The owners should have gotten together Mattingly-style and shut out GS and Durant.
