Huh. Scathing yet no charges. I do believe him that the FBI is operating independently.

While he could not recommend criminal charges, he concluded that administrative action (firing) would be appropriate. He also enumerated a number of lies she and her campaign have repeated since the server's existence was made known.

CNN reporting that for 14 minutes, Comey made the case for how careless and reckless Clinton and her surrogates were.

Hiliar '16, we need careless and reckless!

    Hello darkness, my old friend
Trump hasn't tweeted anything about this FBI recommendation. Shocking. Sad!

I guess he already knew Obama wouldn't allow the FBI to recommend indictment.

Yes Trump has. He said the system is rigged among other claims.

Today is the day that Hillary won the White House.

Comey's statement clearly indicates that she broke laws and that she was unimaginably careless and incompetent in handling security. What the FBI didn't seem to find was that there was overt intent to put secure information at risk. Given that, the FBI has concluded that it would be unlikely that she would be convicted if she were to be prosecuted. He all but said that what she did should have cost her her job as Secretary of State had it come to light during her tenure in that office. We'll have to leave it to others to figure out why on earth it didn't come to light. Nobody in the Oval Office thought it was unusual that emails to her were addressed to @clintonemail.com rather than a government account? That said, she skates on this, and by doing so, will ultimately waltz into the White House, IMO. No matter what her detractors will say, and they will say plenty, the bottom line is that her supporters will be able to say, "well maybe so, but at least she's better than Trump." And they'll be right. Thanks a lot, Mags and company.

What Democrats seem to be blissfully willing to ignore is the obfuscatory intent she showed in the first place by setting up her own private email. Try to parse that action into anything but direct intent to be able to have complete control over what information becomes accessible to the public. Easier than carrying two phones? Please. And try to explain away her many and shifting statements on the email as anything but dishonest and duplicitous.

But, hey, at least she's better than Trump.

This country is well and truly screwed for the next four years.

Who's ignoring it, though? I think the Clintons are pretty shady. I think that they feel the rules don't apply to them and that nothing sticks to them. It bothers me about her but, ultimately, I care a lot more about the policy positions. Further, it's not like it's a choice between "policy I like" versus "honesty." Donald Trump spends nearly all of his time lying. Trump University was a pure scam. He's such an unapologetic liar that he admitted to the whole John Barron/John Miller (saying it was a joke) in some testimony years ago and now claims that it wasn't him when it was brought back up. Not that him impersonating publicity agents is important, it's just an amusing illustration of how free he feels in lying.

So yes, Trump is worse plus I prefer Democratic policy prescriptions. I have no love for Clinton and wish the Democrats had a far better nominee.

Clinton Foundation is still guilty of laundering political bribes from foreign countries. In fact that seems to be it's only true function. President(s) or not, both Clintons will be mired in criminal and civil courts until they die, and the DNC will wither and die if it can't find a way to distance itself down the line.

I get and accept all of that. I don't agree that policy should outweigh integrity, but, as you say, it's not like Trump would ever give Honest Abe a run for that appellation. Trump is a scumbag nitwit (at least in terms of political affairs) and a total loose cannon in what he'll say or think. Hillary is just a scumbag. She wins.

I think all of that is true, but it's not going to come to light until well after the election is decided. Some parts probably won't come to light in our lifetime. Bill and Hillary are really good at hiding stuff.

Damn! SlyPokerDog is a prime example of a fucking tool! It was criminal in my mind the shit she didn't do at Benghazi and the lies about it that should land her in the dump heap of history! In the eyes of every American. This crass disregard for law and honesty over the email, is just icing on the shitty cake. Then you want policy from this source? Tool!

I suppose it is her policy on the disregard for the 2nd amendment that lights your wick. Fuck! Sounds like a guy that would compete with kid for the candy thrown at the local parade.

The fact that I think Trump is a nitwit tool shouldn't come as a surprise to you, so give me a break with the pandering BS. Here's another fact that shouldn't come as a surprise to you, most people in this country don't think the way you do. There are enough who do to get Trump the nomination, but not to get him elected. The fact that that will mean that someone as shady as Hillary will be elected sucks donkey balls, but that's the way it is IMO. You Trump fanboys got so caught up in the excitement of someone who would rail on about the things that are hot buttons for you, that you neglected to note that he's so caustic that he can't attract enough voters to beat someone as dreadful as Hillary. Nice job.

It does indeed surprise me. He is no nitwit. You may not like him, but nitwit he is not. Neither is Hillary for that matter, she is a lying, conniving, life long freeloader at the public trough.

Trump maybe flamboyant, verbose, even crude perhaps, but not a nitwit

I guess you missed the parenthetical qualifier, "(at least in terms of political affairs)". I should have said "political nitwit". The guy knows nearly zero about international relations, governmental policy, division of powers and other issues relating to how the government actually works. In other words, he's not qualified for the job. Trump has a certain street smarts and knowledge of how to play the media that has gotten him this far. I don't see it carrying him the rest of the way.
