Who is the most improved "most improved" award winner? J Oneal, Tmac, Arenas just to name a few. Ill tell my views later.
Right now I would have to say Carlos Boozer. Career highs in PPG, RPG, APG and FG% while helping lead the Jazz to one of the best records in the league.
I'm sticking with my man Gilbert Arenas, second round pick now arguabely MVP? There's not much more improving you can do, even last year there were people doubting his ability due to his PAST but now he's proved how much better he has gotten. Other good examples would be Carlos Boozer if he snags it this year, my god he's made his game so much better, stopped getting injured and started playing all-star basketball.
Probably will sound like a homer or whatever but Kevin Martin has to be up there. Did anyone even know who he was until this year? 21 ppg, 4.5 rpg, 2.2 apg, 1.2 spg, shooting 50% from the field, 40% from the 3 point line, 87% from the free throw line and only about 2 turnovers per game. Compared to last year's stats 10.9 ppg, 3.6 rpg, 1.3 apg, 0.8 spg, shot 48% from the field, 36% from the three point line, 84% from the free throw line.K-Mart = M.I.P. :dribble:
I think Ben Wallace should have won a Most Improved player of the year award. Undrafted player out of Virginia Union to 4 time DPOY + Centerpiece of a title winning team.But of players that have won the title, Gilbert Arenas for the reasons that Garenas mentioned.

I would pick Boozer, he is having a career year and leading a team that was terrible last year with his MVP-type numbers. Other candidates would be Deron Williams, Monta Ellis, and Kevin Martin
guys, READ. good topic btw.I'd probably say from where they started out, TMac has made the biggest jump. He went from a prep-to-pro getting no time to a multiple scoring champion, an all-star, and a superstar. Now he's leading his team to a high playoff seed without Yao.

Kevin Martin is the most improved player..Martin has increased his scoring average more than any other players mentioned in this thread. He's also gone from the sixth scoring option in Sacramento to the first scoring option. He finds a way to score even though he's not a freakish athlete and he doesn't have the perfect shot form. Everyone knew that Boozer and Okafor could produce these numbers when fully healthy, but who would have thought that Martin would be among the top scoring leaders in the league.
For me I would say this:1. Kevin Martin2. Monta Ellis3. Maurice Williams4. Eddy CurryMartin has been scoring all star numbers since Mike Bibby isn't like himself when he is an amazing scorer. So Martin has stepped up and shown that he is going to be a star. Also Monta Ellis just his 2nd year in the NBA and he's already went from just 8PPG to 18PPG and his minutes went up a lot and he was also promoted to the starting lineup instead of coming to the bench. Maurice Williams is playing great leading the Bucks. Without TJ Ford he has stepped up big time and I didn't expect him to be a big part of the Bucks. Eddy Curry I believe is have an injury free season? He had many 20+ points games and is tough to guard. Looks like Curry is finally developing into a star. But by most I would have to say it is either Martin or Ellis as most improved player

Since he won it, I'd say Arenas has improved the most. He was averaging about 18 ppg at that point and looked like he was gonna be a pretty good player, maybe a borderline all star or 2nd or 3rd option. Since then he's become a dominant offensive player and MVP candidate.
I'd say agent0 or jermaine o'neal. O'neal went from playin 10 mins and scorin 3 points 2 bein an all-star type player.
I honestly don't see why Gil is being mentioned. Sure he has been incredible this season, but he had a great season last season and a pretty damn good one the year before. It's not like he broke out this season. My pick is Kevin Martin. Barely anyone knew who he was last season(I only knew of him because I live near Sac) and now he's become a 20+ ppg guy. I mean imo he still has the most underrated offenive game in the NBA. He's averaging 21 ppg while shooting 50% from the field, 40% from beyond the arc, and 87% from the line. The guy deserves more notice then he's getting still. Another guy who I don't expect to win but I feel should be getting more mention is Iguodala. The guy came in this season and people were beginning to wonder if this guy was ever gonna break out and he's really done what he needed to. He's gotten more agressive finally especially on offense like we needed and hes averaging 16, 5.5, and 5 this season along with great defense.
