Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! Wizards after beating the Magic last night, and the Cavs after losing to Denver last night, have switched seeds. WIZARDS NOW LEAD THE EAST! Honestly when was the last time you ever saw Washington's name at the top of the east? 1978? I hope to god we can keep leading the conference for at least a little while.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! Eh, I don't see us keeping this up much longer. We need to improve on our streak more, though. It's a good accomplishment, for a team that has a terrible franchise history.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! Congratulations, but keeping that top seed is going to be tough. I never really thought about this until Walton was talking about it during last night's Denver-Cleveland game, but no team out East has really taken advantage of Shaq's absence. I mean, the Heat are just six games out of first place right now... without Shaq. If they get there sh*t together when he returns, they'll definitely be fighting for that top seed, as will Detroit, and possibly Chicago and Cleveland. The Wizards have been really surprising this year, and if they can keep this up and get a top 4 seed in the playoffs, they could definitely make a lot of noise in the playoffs.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! Congratulations to the Wiz for being the first in the East. I didnt see this one coming. But, all this does for me is shows me how weak the eastern conference is. If the Wizards were in the western conference, they would be the 7th seed by record. And then you have to take in to account that they would be playing better teams....None the less, congratulations..

Our record against the West is 8-7, against teams like the Lakers, Jazz, Mavericks, Nuggets and Suns, also with close losses against in both games against the Rockets, Nuggets and Hornets 1 time, but a mistake here and there, would make that record better.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! I was just stating that if the Wizards were in the West, they would have the 7th best record, and that it would be hardER if they were in the west. It is VERY apparent that the west is much stronger than the east, and things would definitely be tougher. I dont know how your disputing that. 4 games against the Mavs, Suns, Spurs, Jazz, Lakers, would get hard after a while.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! Enjoy it while it lasts. Once Shaq comes back, you can kiss it goodbye. Like BigMo said, they are only 6 games back from first without arguably the greatest center ever.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! We can grab a couple more wins, before shaq returns to his old self. You can't expect him to already play well coming back from an injury like that.

Also he's older and his skills have deteriorated from when he was consideired possibely the greatest center ever. 6 games out of first place is alot more than it seems cambyland....You guys are over-rating the Heat.

What do you not understand about that? And even though Shaq is coming back out of shape, and his skills are going to be very rusty, his presence is enough to give that team a big boost. He didnt perform to his best ability last year in the finals, but his presence helped Wade and the Heat win the championship.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! You don't realize that Shaq isn't the same as he was last year, the Heat won last year because of Wade, Shaq was merely on of the main role players once it came to the playoff. His presence wont make them the best team in the east.....especially w/ pat riley still out. Also I'm not saying that the West is worse than the east, just disproving your point that the Wizards would get owned out West by telling you what western conference teams we've beaten.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! I never said that the Wizards would get owned. You are twisting my words. But, I did say that they wouldnt be better than a 7th seed considering their record, and that a tougher schedule would make their record worse. They have played good agaisnt some teams this year, but they are streaky and the west would eat that right up. Im just saying that the west is harder, therefore their record would be slightly worse most likley....Ok, you can call Shaq a "role player" but the fact of the matter is that he got 14 and 10 shooting over 60 percent from the field in the finals against the Mavericks. There were only 3 games in the series were he shot over 10 times in a game, which shows that he was very affective when he went up with the ball. That also shows that he was VERY unselfish, and that he realized that letting Wade get more involved in the game was good for the team. His presence drew double teams which let other players get open for shots or drives to the basket. Just because his stats arent what they ussually are, doesn't mean that his presence isn't felt.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! Not to bust your bubble, but if you havent noticed, the east is sort of weak. Judging the records you guys have, yes, its an accomplishment..a huge one? No. The West has better teams. But congratulations anyway. Its going to be hard keeping that spot.
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! Woopy freaking doo...the Wizards have a 60% winning percentage....
Re: WIZARDS ARE FIRST IN THE EAST! Whats the Bucks? They're not even making the playoffs in the East. I know that hte East is alot worse but the fact of the matter is that we only play eastern teams in the playoffs until the finals....
