Our bro Wheels really lives out in the boonies and can't get the internet for that. What are fans like that supposed to do, go fuck themselves again like they have for ten years?
I used Playstation vue last season and it worked fine... no contracts so I cancelled right after the season ended. I'm a cord cutter so this is a perfect option for me. Just Stream the game from my Android phone to my Chromecast. Last season I used my ps3 but the UI was pretty laggy.
Paul Allen actually took less money and years from Comcast than ROOT sports offered. If you read the article Blazers realized root sports contract was going to end with Comcast in a few years and their deals with dish and satellite were less distributive to the market than the current one So pick your poison
Sucks to be him. But, people have choices and can choose where you live. Can never please everyone. There will still be 1%-5% screwed. Just the way it is. Get better internet.
Some of these numbers are staggering. So only 55 % of the market can access the games, unless they shell out for Vue? The no KGW thing is disappointing. I wonder if if any other market has this poor distribution
This. They fire extremely popular and talented broadcast crew. Do nothing so far to really shake up the team. Go back to the devil, Comcast
Multi-year Deal Includes All Regional Games and New Media Distribution Rights PORTLAND, Ore. (July 6, 2016) – CSN Northwest, part of NBC Sports Group, will continue as the local rightsholder for Portland Trail Blazers game broadcasts, it was announced today by Trail Blazers President & CEO Chris McGowan. Beginning with the new 2017-18 extension, CSNNW will become the exclusive media partner for all regional Trail Blazers games. “After thorough negotiations with several other potential partners, it became apparent that by building on our existing relationship with CSN Northwest, we have the best opportunity to increase distribution for Blazers games and other programming in our marketplace,” said McGowan. “With the addition of David Preschlack at NBC Sports Group and his background in distribution, we’re very motivated to collaborate on ways to bring even greater access to our fans.” “We’re excited to extend our relationship with the Portland Trail Blazers beyond the 2016-17 season, and look forward to building on the growth in distribution we have achieved over the last few years,” said David Preschlack, President of NBC Sports Regional Networks. “We’re also excited to work with the team to determine new ways to reach fans in the Portland area.” CSN Northwest has seen meaningful increases in distribution over the last few years, thanks to new carriage agreements with Charter Communications, CenturyLink Prism® TV, and most recently SONY Vue which, is accessible on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 3, Amazon Fire TV, Google Chromecast and Roku. These distributors expanded CSN Northwest’s longstanding carriage on XFINITY, Frontier and Wave. “CSN is committed to super serving Portland’s passionate fans and thrilled that this new partnership features more Trail Blazers games on CSN than ever before,” said Larry Eldridge, GM of CSN Northwest. In addition to game broadcasts, the Trail Blazers-CSNNW partnership will continue producing a comprehensive mix of shoulder programming, including Trail Blazers Courtside, pregame shows, halftime updates and postgame wrap-ups. There are also plans to refresh studio sets, on-air graphics and other production elements. For the upcoming 2016-17 season, Trail Blazers regional game broadcasts will continue to be shared between CSNNW and local NBC affiliate KGW Channel 8. Radio broadcasts of Trail Blazers games will still be found on flagship Rip City Radio AM-620 and on 20 additional stations regionally on the Trail Blazers Radio Network. http://www.csnnw.com/portland-trail...l-blazers-extend-and-expand-media-partnership
Pretty sure I said I'd eat a bullet if your music was the only music available. I can just choose not to listen to it now.
Saw this on BE: So CSN offered less money and fewer years Root Sports must be the Portland Trail Blazers of regional sports networks.
So I think they delayed the announcement because they were hoping Neil would make a splash in free agency... but that didn't happen, so they finally had to just suck it up and take the punch.
God thank you.. Exactly what I said. These guys just read the headline and see its Comcast again and flip out. Fucking read
It's been PR hit after PR hit with this team the past few months, firing their announcers, failing to improve the team in free agency, and now this. It's just a kick in the balls again and again.
