He seems to be the admin of the site that said we had the first meeting with Whiteside, I wouldn't put much stock into what he's saying.
And someone by the name of Malcolm Delaney that Rasta probably knows signed with Hawks. Although this guy is an american, he has been playing overseas for some time.
It has been very quiet on the Ezeli front, if I remember correctly the teams with significant cap left don't need a C, so perhaps Blazers are trying to make Festus and his gent sweat a bit so they can get him for for a decent/cheaper deal, we see
Ya know I just reviewed Ezelis stats and they really don't show all that much, yeah he has some potential but when you combine his injury experiences with his age (26) IMO he's not worth more that an 8-10 mil contract (or Cole Aldrich price area). And given big C FA money appears gone perhaps the Blazers could get him for something close to their remaining capspace near 8 mil? if he accepted that for 3 yrs I think it worth it for the Blazers
Speaking of Harkless....this is from the 4th before teams signed some other players: "The Lakers are not done in free agency, but they do not appear to be in the market for any major players. They might have a chance to add Moe Harkless of the Portland Trail Blazers, according to Marc J. Spears of The Undefeated. They are in competition with the Washington Wizards, Detroit Pistons, Dallas Mavericks and Utah Jazz for the 6'9" small forward. "
Brian Roberts just signed back with Charlotte to be their 3rd string PG at a vet minimum deal. On the surface I would take him over Shabazz but I think POR is thinking of developing the young guy and not even giving him minutes but having Turner handle the backup distributing guard role. Maybe Shabazz becomes something in a couple years who knows?
I wonder if we could sign-and-trade Moe or Meyers for Picks/Cheap Contract and then use the cleared up cap space to add Ezeli? If we even need cap space to sign him. $10M should be enough. That'd mean trading Plumlee for a 1st. I'd take Ezeli and a 1st Round Pick over Plumlee.
