I just don't understand bringing in more border-line starters of comparable talent to those already on the team. Why? edit: especially if you have to renounce Harkless.
seems like a lot for a guy with injuries last few yrs and not showing that much, that's too high IMO and not significant FA money left for a team to pay a C big dollars
The reasoning on the show is because he's what's left, he's 26 so he fits the age curve, per 36 (15/12/3) would be good if it translates, he was stuck behind Bogut and could be better with more time.
You trade Plums away for a pick, you open up even more room. As pointed out earlier, what other team can even throw 10 mil at Festus?
Ezeli bought a one way ticket to Portland... He's not talking to other teams, just has to clear up the knee thing. The fact the Blazers also have agreed to sign Layman to a 3 year deal is telling as well.
That's as high as I would go and I will repeat; "Teams that have significant capspace left already have their C's, so there is really not much competition IMO and Neil has to know this, I think/hope 10-13 mil per yr tops
+1 With Turner and Ezeli we would have no need for Plumee (and, sadly, Ed Davis either assuming Lenoard is retained). I like the thought of mobile 4s who can defend (Aminu/Harkless) paired with real bigs that can sit in the post on defense (Ezeli/Leonard).
