Our annual Festival is the most educational and inspiring wooden boat event in the world.

    • 300 boats on land and water

Never been a fan of land boats, seems to defeat the purpose of owning a boat.

I'm not sure what the mean there either. The only thing I can think of is a boat on a trailer. But what ever it is, it will be the majority of the boats I think.
As I recall, the harbor, Port Hudson is pretty small, maybe 40, 50, tops 60 boat in the harbor.
Probably the biggest will be MarAzul, I am sweating it, getting her squeezed in there. I may need a little rubber boat to work as a tug to pusher her around the corners.

Starboard side Sanded, washed and cleaned with lacquer thinner. Taped ready for stain prior to Spar application.

A little work done today, Five hours blown on S2 and three hour on the MarAzul! Probably ought to reverse that, but it rain heavy here in Winchester Bay today. So a good day anyway considering.

A better day tomorrow and half the side will have Spar applied. That dang thing is 12 feet in the air at the bow!

That my friend is a damn fine boat. I'm as jealous as hell. And it takes a lot to get me jealous.

Forget the stripes, you need to go with ghost flames.

Both sides done. A fresh coat of bottom paint and she is ready for an appearance in the Port Townsend Wooden Boat Festival.

I am going to try some on the bottom of an old inflatable. Leaks bad right through the cloth. We shall see!

I think I might be asked to leave as soon as the Flame bow of MarAzul poked around the corner of the entrance to Port Hudson.

Wood Boat! Tradition man! MarAzul is stretching the tolerance as she is.

If it's tradition you want you should go with one of these!

There is an old chantey about the tail, mermaids, and girls, but I can't quite remember how it goes.

Not yet. Been thinking about a decorative salute gun for the quarter deck. For show you know but actually a 40mm launcher when needed.

The Harbor master at Port Hudson has me covered with the tugboat work.

I'll do the trip single handed . A couple of long tacks to the Strait.
