I've been thinking about it, and there's really no clear leaders for the national player of the year this season. Unless I'm really forgetting someone I also really am starting ot think Kevin Durant might win it. He's been playing incredible this season and has put up the best freshmen season so far I've ever seen since I started following college basketball. I'm sure most of you guys know how well he's playing bt for those of you who don't hes pretty much averaging 24/11 along with 1.5 spg and 2 bpg and great shooting percentages. He's been huge for Texas this year and w/o him I highly doubt Texas would've even gotten close to getting in the top25 this season.
Kevin Durant is it. The guy is un-coverable and in Big 12 play has been averaging huge numbers and Big 12 is a good conference. Best freshman play I have seen since 'Melo, lets see if he can lead his team to a 'chip.
Kevin DurantMarcus WilliamsNick FrazekasThose are my main picks.Dequan Cooks might be a good pick too.
The first guy that comes to mind is Durant. He seems like a lock if he keeps his play up. Then you have the rest of the pack...Greg OdenNick FazekasMario BogganNick YoungJeramareo DavidsonAlando Tucker

Big deal. He was the most hyped freshman this year, and is living up to his hype. The media will see him as a candidate regardless of how many games he missed.

Forgot about Fazekas. Guy is lighting it up this year, so glad he decided to stay. Also, Oden has done all that with one hand pretty much.
I mentioned Mario Boggan, and his play is backing that up. He's been amazing for OKSU in close games. He's a guy rising in the ranks, my dark horse. I love this kid.

He's not getting enough recognition, and he should be a canidate.

In clutch situations he will put this team on his shoulders. He is a good low post player who can step out and hit the jumpers. His only weakness is sometimes he gets too big headed and shoots threes. He makes few, and when he makes one, he won't stop. He needs to learn that he is best down low.I can see him as a dark horse also.
