<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>20th January, 2007 - 11:58 am Contra Costa Times - The Warriors are discussing a trade with the Detroit Pistons involving center Nazr Mohammed, a person familiar with the talks confirmed on condition of anonymity. The source said Detroit has inquired about Warriors combo guard Monta Ellis, recently acquired point guard Sarunas Jasikevicius, swingman Mickael Pietrus and forward Matt Barnes. According to the Detroit News, the Pistons also have offered Mohammed for Minnesota's Marko Jaric, Toronto's Mo Peterson and Houston's Bonzi Wells.</div>-RealGM.comWhy are the Warriors interested in making this many changes so soon, it's gonna kill chemistry. It really does seem that Detroit has been going for depth recently and getting rid of Nazr should really help them with the addition of Webber.

Interesting. I would absolutely love Monta Ellis on the team. I understand why Golden State is doing this, because they have a billlion swingmen, but not enough PT. The only thing bad for GS is that Andris Biedrins PT will go down with Nazr in GS. I don't really care for Barnes or Jasikevicus, but Ellis or Pietrius would be awesome in Detroit.

If the Warriors traded away all thoes players, just for Nazr; that would be pretty dumb move by them. Monta Ellis is pretty decent backing up Baron Davis, Pietrus can score enough points to help a team. Matt Barnes has a lot of potential and Sarunas Jasikevicius is blah. Detriot would have a pretty good bench if this trade happened.

I really can't wait to see this team once J-Rich gets back, and Baron Davis.

Monta Ellis? The Warriors would have to be insane to give him up without getting more than Nazr Muhammed. Even Matt Barnes I'm not sure I'd trade for him. Sarunas Jasikevicius possibly I guess, because the Warriors do lack some beef downlow. Harrington and Biedrins is tough to cut it with in the West.

Monta for Nazr would be one of the biggest rip offs in nba history. We'd be trading a guy who everybody and their brother knows will be a star for a center that wouldn't even be starting for us. This would be an idiotic trade for us (unless we know that we won't be able to re-sign ellis)

I really want Pietrus here. We'd be set for a playoff run.

Wow..if Joe Dumars can dump a overvalued center that doesn't want to be here, and get Monta Ellis in return for him, he no doubt is headed for another GM of the Year vote. Even if the Pistons have to giveup their own pick.I could see something like....Sarunas JasikeviciusMonta EllisforNazrPistons 1st rounderI would get really wet over that. I'd take Mickael Pietrus too if Monta wasn't available.

They can't trade Sarunas unless it is with another player from that 8 player trade. I believe. Maybe I'm wrong and I look like a complete idiot. Oh well.

Sarunas I would not trade after yesterday, he's shown that he is the best pure point guard the Warriors have had in decades, and he's a lights out shooter. I'd be more than happy to trade Barnes. Lately, he has been shooting way too much and has no way to control himself.

Like Cabangbang said just because Detroit has been pursuing him doesn't mean GS is willing to give him up. I can't imagine Chris Mullins could be that stupid to give up a big part of their future for a backup C. I'm suprised though you Warriors fans don't acre about Pietrus. I haven't watched a ton of him but from what I've seen he's a pretty decent scorer and is a pretty solid defender.

He'll probably leave after this season anyway

I'd go Pietrius and Sarunas for Nazr and a first rounder. Nazr would be missed sort of, he was a decent scorer down low, but Pietrius and Sarunas would definitely help on the defensive end, and Sarunas would make smart decisions that Flip Murray can't seem to make.Speaking of Flip, where can we ship him off to?

GS can't trade Sarunas unless its by himself because of the 8 men trade so that counts out him. I'd be ok with seeing Pietrus in a Pistons uniform but I don't really care for anyone else besides maybe Stephen Jackson. A lot of people on the Pistons message board like Barnes or whatever and yeah he may have been having a nice season but he's nothing more than Ronald Dupree in my eyes, he's just doing really good in that run n gun system which is not the style Detroit plays. And if S. Jackson could come here and get his act together and play like he did in San Antonio I wouldn't mind him here, he's an athletic 6'8 swingman that would be nice off our bench but he has been looking a little slow on the defensive end in some highlights I've seen him in and that's not good.
