Great signing. Good value for a big man. (not the screaming deal we got Elezi for....but ML's knees are better) Glad to keep young Leonard!!!
I would just like to point out that fucking Mozgov got 4 years at 64 million. Meyers - 10 million per year Mozgov - 16 million per year
Remember when the Lakers were able to just go and cherry pick the best players on other teams and just take them - Shaq, Glen Rice, etc.? Now, their big free agent acquisition is grotesquely overplaying a 30-year old nobody who was the 10th best player on his team and couldn't even get off the bench in the playoffs in spite of being 7'1" and healthy? I like this much better! BNM
I think there will be a trade.... maybe when Meyers comes back. If Meyers was healthy I could see us making a trade now, but since he's out until December (?) I think we'll hold onto Plums. With that said, I could see a decent consolidation trade in the future.
A major reason why I prefer to have a center committee rather than one max center like Whiteside. (Cousins or Drummond are exceptions) Centers seem to get hurt more than other players, at least ours have. So pay everyone else, and go with depth at center....just in case.
Having this many quality bigs is going to keep more quality bigs healthy longer..won't have to play big minutes when opposing centers are getting gassed playing 30 minutes plus. We have a lot of fouls to throw at DHoward and DeAndre Jordan now. Stotts can work mismatches all over the roster...most depth I've seen in a long time
I'm sure we'll thin the herd come trade deadline, but in the meantime we can figure out who the keepers are. All in all I'm happy with the offseason
Realistically this season only Crabbe and Turner have contracts that might be hard to move. Of course they could each play up to them as well and then me Movable.... Or included with a small contract guy who is blowing up.
as much as i cant stand meyers, i'm happy that him betting on himself saved us a chunk of cash - aka id rather have not have him, but if they were intent on signing him - less is more.
Dude brings his dog with him to the signing. Getting paid 40 million dollars and you bring your dog with you? That my folks is love.
