Idk man. I think we should trade some of these players. That's why I want to match Crabbe, so we can package a trade for a pretty good player.

On most contending teams your 6th man is often better than your fourth and fifth starters.

Lets look at the 6th man of the year awards and who the have gone to over the years.

    Jamal Crawford...No All Star Appearances
    Lou Williams...No All Star Appearances
    Jamal Crawford...No All Star Appearances
    JR Smith...No All Star Appearances
    James Harden...4 time all star
    Lamar Oden...No All Star Appearances
    Jamal Crawford...No All Star Appearances
    Jason Terry...No All Star Appearances
    Manu Ginobli...2 time all star
    Leandro Barbosa...No All Star Appearances
    Mike Miller...No All Star Appearances
Ben Gordon...No All Star Appearances(BTW, I see Ben was a Monster at CHI. What happened @Denny Crane ?)
    Antoine Jamison...2 time all star

Alright Bones, you got me. Your right. Shit. I thought for sure 6th men of the year were at least all stars.

I still think your 6th man is better than most 4th and 5th guys in the starting lineup, though they might not play the same position. For example, Crabbe was the closest we had to a 6th man last year and some would say he is better than Plums and Leonard, who were both starters(Prior to injury).

Gordon had to leave the Bulls to get paid. Detroit was the worst thing that could happen to him. He outplayed Rip Hamilton but they played Rip out of some sense of loyalty or something.

I don't think Neil is done with the roster moves. So I will save my comment on this topic after the big trade is made that will get the Blazers that big time PF!

OK so scratch my previous rotation........

I think I will wait until Harkless is signed before I try again.

Damn our team is stacked this season after resigning our guys and picking up Ezeli and turner. We could be scary good next season. Going into the season considering what we added and how we played last year, you've got to think the west looks something like this.

    Warriors
    -----------
    Spurs/Blazers
    -----------
    Clippers/Etc
    -----------

The only thing we didn't do was pickup a legit third scorer. I'm not sure if Turner is that guy. Maybe Crabbe or Harkless can grow into that role though.

I think added quality depth makes up for lack of third guy. Crabbe or Leonard are probably the ones who take the step though.

I have no clue how the rotation will work out at this point. I don't think Summer League games will give us insight to that either. Might be easier to do a more traditional depth chart without overlapping names into other positions.

Assuming we retain Harkless essentially we have swapped Henderson, Roberts, Kaman and Alexander for Turner, Napier, Ezeli and Layman.

    PG Dame/Napier
    SG CJ/Crabbe/Connaughten/Montero
    SF Turner/Harkless/Layman
    PF Aminu/Davis/Vonleh
    C Ezeli/Plumlee/Leonard

You could swap Davis and Leonard maybe.... Glad I don't have to sort it all out!

And it's not just rotation... it's minute distribution specifically.

Plumlee and Harkless were starters. Now Ezeli will either start or take minutes from Plums/Davis. Turner will likely start for Harkless so he plays back-up at the '3' where Crabbe played some and now AC just backs up CJ?

It is a bit of a cluster although we are certainly deeper. Good problem to have.

Stotts will have a lot more flexibility with roster depending upon match-ups with the opposition. This is a good problem to have.

It all depends on the team and match-ups, but I would to see the following lineup to start most often:
    Dame
    CJ
    ET
    Aminu
    Plums

If there is an actual difference in roles on offense between our SG and our SF, then I would think ET would back up CJ, not Crabbe, because of his handles. Evan may weight a little more, but Crabbe is a little longer and can guard most SF's.

If we still sign Harkless and the current rookies continue progessing..... can't help but think a trade might be coming st some time. Just a thought.

I agree. I think Crabbe can challenge Turner for starting SF.
