I really like this. Meyers is one of these guys that thinks too much, imho. Once he learns to just play - he can be a real force.

I assume there is supposed to be some sort of point or humor here, but I think it failed.

We now have the option to combine Meyers and Festus into some sort of Brundle-Fly like super center.

That's a good deal (for the Blazers).

Wonder how much the Ezeli contract may have set (lowered) the bar?

I take SlyPokerDog with me wherever I go. I'll be damned if he doesn't find his way home every time.

Really?? $40 million for Meyers Leonard? I'm a little surprised at all the jubilation about this new contract. What exactly has he done in 4 years in Portland to earn a spot on the roster, much less that kind of money???

He's a seven footer that can shoot and isn't a total dud on the glass or on defense. There's no doubt that he has to improve, but as long he doesn't play PF, he has shown the ability to make a positive impact for this team.

When Neil said "If Meyers trust in himself as much as I trust in him, he will be an All-Star" he was not lying.

Yeah Meyers is pretty much my least favorite Blazer and even I think it's a good contract.

I don't get the "great deal stuff". He has proven nothing in 4 years and yet he sealed such a contract which in my opinion is high with whatever salary cap. Of course it's not my money to pay the luxury tax next year so I don't really care and I hope he works a lot and improves. The problem is that being injured during summer might mean we won't see some serious improvement and we need to be honest last year he was pathetic. But maybe that's good that he was pathetic, imagine what contract he would get if he had let's say 12 points, 8 rebs and 48% fg (yes eye popping numbers-I know). Maybe 80M/4 years.

Whaaaaat? That's the first I've heard that. Well if he's healthy that makes the logjam even worse.

From what I understand , the original offer he turned down was 4/40. Id say the injury and lack of outside interest kept the bar low.

If Oscar watched both those videos he'd know 100 times more about defense and rebounding that he did before.

The knowledge that man possesses about basketball is amazing

I'm sooooo glad to have been right about this one. To everyone who thought we should have dumped him for peanuts because we'd otherwise have to give him a MAX contract: na-na-na-na-naa-naaa!

Congrats on being "right" about a player with a 12.2 career PER and a 109 defensive rating on a poor defensive team with a 108 defensive rating. He's a below average NBA player, which is WAY better than I ever thought he would be.

PER is such a flawed stat. Doesn't capture the big impact Meyers has on floor spacing.

It's always convenient when stats are flawed.
