Anyone with interest knew where and when to be there. It wasn't a secret rally.

I don't know everything, I just know that this protest wasn't a secret, so anyone who wanted to be there, for good or ill, could have gotten the deets. The sniper didn't need to coordinate with anyone.

It explains that in the article.

He said he had planted explosives, he could have hurt lots more people if that turned out to be true and he started setting them off.

Just common sense. The when and where weren't secrets. Lots of people were there, including police officers.

Huh? 2 hour standoff and he doesn't set off one of these bombs he has put everywhere. Yeah, ok.

I read the article and have even less support for what they did.

Ah! the final authority! Nothing to be gained from the perpetrator, just ask Minstrel. Well are indeed lucky to have you. Questioning the suspect is no longer needed
    with Minstrel on hand!

Are you one of these types?
    INFP
    INFJ
    ENFP
    ENFJ

All quite rare but know many things.

Even worse is that the police have been practicing this. They can't equip a robot with a tranquilizer gun? Gas to knock him out?

Nope, just C4. Maybe they'll get C4 dropping drones for the next Eric Garner instead of having to choke him to death.

I didn't say that, friend. I just said that the perpetrator knowing the "when and where" doesn't mean much. Coordination wasn't required for that.

But then we don't know how helpful it was, who he knew, how did he get the info, who told him, who brought him...
Perhaps your post was not required.

I wasn't arguing that it wouldn't have been helpful to question the perpetrator. Just that his knowing when and where the rally was being held didn't indicate "coordination" with BLM.

While we, the public, don't have all the details and can never have all the details, we are told he had plans for shooting and bombing police at his house pre-dating the recent Baton Rouge and Minnesota shootings by cops. This doesn't prove he didn't actively coordinate with BLM, but it suggests that he was planning a more well conceived plan at a later date, but moved it forward after the recent shootings.

It takes no coordination with the leaders of a public protest to do what the shooter did. And if the shooter did try to coordinate with BLM organizers he sets himself up to being revealed to the police as it would get the BLM in deep shit if it were found out they had any involvement with a sniper taking out police. Certainly it would be folly for BLM to somehow sign off on having a sniper shoot police at a rally they organized.

There is absolutely no evidence to lead to a tie between the shooter and BLM other than both entities being upset about the same situation. Of course the BLM movement, if you want to call it that, could add some fuel to a persons fire. But you can say the same for any opinionated speech.

I think BLM and many SJW types shoot themselves in the foot with their rhetoric and I don't want to be associated with them personally, but without some evidence I will not jump to the more absurd conclusion just because I don't like them, and I suggest you don't either.

There are other topics we can spend our time with that are not complete speculation.

I really hate to say this, but after watching police brutality vids last night it appears that cops in America err on the side of better to kill the threat than take any chance that any officer even gets touched.

While I understand there might be some cases where a bombrobot would make sense, is there even an option for a non-lethal robot?

2 hours of negotiation only? Like someone said elsewhere, "I've stood in the line at the DMV longer than that."

Kill 'em all and let god sort out the remaining pieces seems to be the policy.

He said he was going to start detonating bombs planted around downtown. He had killed enough people, it was time to end it.

Fair enough, I'll buy that reasoning for blowing him up remotely.

I am still curious if there is even an option of a non-lethal robot.

And from watching a ton of vids online including officers killing a variety of dogs with guns I have come to conclude that officers have been trained to use much more force than necessary.

I would use personal anecdotes from work where sheriff dept officers have "handled" an unarmed 80lb girl with such overbearing force I felt sick to my stomach with that "i know this could have been done better" feeling. Gave them the benefit of the doubt at that time, but to this day it doesn't sit well. But my posts always turn in to essays, so I won't go there.
