<div class='quotetop'>QUOTE </div><div class='quotemain'>EAST RUTHERFORD, N.J. -- New Jersey Nets forward Richard Jefferson will undergo arthroscopic surgery on his right ankle Monday. The team gave no timetable for his return.Jefferson had been bothered by ankle pain since before the start of the season, and left a game against Miami on Nov. 10 after landing on the foot of Miami's Shaquille O'Neal. He has missed six of New Jersey's 40 games and is averaging 16 points and 4.5 rebounds. In his most recent game, he scored 17 points in New Jersey's 101-94 win over Orlando on Saturday.</div>LinkJust when we were getting on a roll
This is just a terrible season for the Nets. They started off playing terrible basketball, and they still aren't playing as well as they should be, but better than before. Not only is their ONLY solid big man out for season, now their 3rd best player (who happens to be close to an All-Star talent) is having ankle surgery. This is just a lost season for New Jersey. Trade rumors are circling everybody on the team, Kidd included. I feel bad for them, in a way, because they truly are a good team.

Bench players are just going to have to step-up like Eddy House did last night with 17 points. I think we will survive with him out for a while. Kidd is not going to be traded , reports say. And if we could trade Carter for like a Gasol, that would definally help and makes us a elite team in the East. There is still hope in this season, very litte hope.
the demise of the new jersey nets :drunk: the big 3 isn't even gonna be together when they come to brooklyn. one or two of them is gonna be out by then and kidd is gonna be way out of his prime by then too. knicks or raps winning this division now

Only in the Atlantic Divison. I don't think this season is completely lost for them yet. A lost season would have to be one like the Celts or Sixers or having.

It's not lost yet, they're still leading the Atlantic and will probably do that all season and make the playoffs.

Celtics have lost pretty much everybody for at least a portion of the year, Bosh missed some time as well for Toronto. They still have J-Kidd and Vince which is more than enough to compete in this division. My point is that from following the Celtics or Sixers season it is pretty impossible for me to feel bad for them considering the seasons those 2 franchises have been through.

I knew his ankle wouldn't hold up the whole year. This is good news for the Raptors. They should be able to pull ahead in the Atlantic now that Jefferson AND Krstic are out.

no I think eddie house could but up big numbers at sg while vince slides to sf we will last and win the divsion.

Its not like hes out for the whole season people, just a month.
is it confirmed hes gonna be out for only a month? hes had a nagging ankle since the beginning of the season and is gonna go through surgery...sounds like he'll be out longer.

This is a good chance for the Raptors and Knicks to pull away from the Nets and take a lead in the Atlantic division. I also remember one year when Jefferson came back for a playoff game which he wasn't suppose to and had a huge game the very 1st one he came back. and he's done a couple of big games just coming back from injuries.

The nets will hold on to or grow that division lead even without Jefferson, I think. They all have been playing better, and we got Robinson back. Eddie House has been playing great and do I even need to talk about Kidd? And who knows, maybe there is a trade coming soon, maybe Gasol :drunk:
Can't believe Jefferson is coming out he was finally starting to get his groove back and was even averaging 17 points per game. This is a huge setback for the Nets a month because they have already had trouble winning with Jefferson but w/o they will be even worse. Carter and Kidd will step it up with the absence of Jefferson but now the 3rd scoring option is up in the air. Mikki Moore will probably be the best option as he has really stepped up but also Eddie House and make Hasaan Adams now since he will have minutes can show his incredible athleticism
