Just watched a documentary on History channel called DB Cooper: Cased Closed? The have evidence that a man named Robert Rackstraw is Cooper...he as much as admits to it....though a lot of people have claimed to be him. There is something about this guy. If you guys haven't watched it...watch it...

When the FBI interviewed him and ask if he was DB Cooper this was his peculiar response...

"Could have been...I can't commit myself one way or another for something like that. Like I say, primarily I am afraid of heights and... there's a matter there too you say, Well with a story like that, should it be fiction or should it be fact? And that's primarily up to the American people."

Couldn't find a younger picture...but they showed a younger pic that looks identical to the sketch...what do you guys think of D.B. Cooper?

They've had evidence on others, too. Most have died from old age. This guy could be crazy. He sounds like he has no idea of what he did in the past. If he's afraid of heights, then he wouldn't be an experienced jumper, as Cooper was.

Rackstraw was a paratrooper and a pilot for the military...he did missions for the government...he is openly mocking the FBI...guy is a genius...I'm afraid of heights is the perfect response....so is I can't commit to that...

History Channel isn't as much about history as it is about sensationalism.

D B Cooper? Is the History channel beautifying him now?
I suppose the appropriate time has passed.

When I was about 11 years old the "hippie couple" and their son who found the money moved in above our family in our apartment complex near Cleveland High School. I remember they had another son, and that they were living there temporarily because their house burned down in Vancouver. One of their sons gave me a stack of comic books. For some reason their dad was away a lot.

This is going to make a killer fucking movie.

Yeah that couple and the son were on the show and there was a clip of the guy and his son being shown a clip that basically says they didn't just happen upon the money in the sand, that it was somehow planned, and the guys are onto it is tenfold...he takes his glasses off, looks away, then back, the muscles in his face tense, a look of being confronted with a truth that he thought would never come to light...his son looked equally stunned.

The guys story changed from his son running over and sweeping away the sand in the spot it was purportedly found to he directed his son to another spot where the sand was swept away and it was found...

His response after being confronted was that guy in the video was a tweaker and didn't know anything...the whole story about finding the money in the sand is off

I think Dan Cooper made it. The guy planned the whole thing out meticously. The evidence left behind, the tie, cigarette butts, etc was done so on purpose as red herrings...he knew exactly all the specs of the airplane, the required airspeed, the flaps. His plan was flawless. He caused the FBI a decades long headache, and then to throw in the towel and quit the case...

They made a crappy movie with Treat Williams as DB years back. I'm surprised they haven't cashed in and made a blockbuster version of it. I thought awhile back John Cusack would be a good choice to play DB

I saw that Treat Williams movie.

I doubt they can make a film while the guy is still alive for legal reasons.

Maybe a JFK type of film that asks questions and leaves it up to the audience to decide.

I doubt Cooper is going to come out of hiding to sue a movie studio at the consquence of admitting who he is and going to jail...

I was thinking the film would be about the prime suspect in this History Channel Show if he ever gets convicted. If he is never convicted, which looks likely they could wait til he passes and make a film like that Zodiac Killer movie that just presents all the evidence and leaves the question unanswered.

Makes sense. What about picking the top 4 suspects or so and doing a movie that shows it could be either of them...idk

There are only a few suspects from all those mentioned that stand out to me. Of course Robert Rackstraw, also Duane Weber, and William Gossett. LD Cooper and Barbra Dayton are also interesting suspects, but the evidence points towards one of the first 3

.... or he could have been sucked down into the wake of the Merwin Dam and disappeared forever. And whatever evidence was left was further buried for all time when Mt. St. Helens blew. I'm not saying it's the most plausible scenario but it has to be mentioned.

They have serial numbers on all the money and none has ever been spent. Why?
