I thought this was a pretty good comparison. It is a very tough choice. I might add my opinion later. What do you guys think?

Caron Butler is better on the outside. Josh Howard is better in the inside. I'd rather have Josh Howard because I think he can play defense a little better then Caron, while Caron has the better range but, not by a lot.

I'd go with Josh. He's the more complete player IMO.He plays very good defense, rebounds the ball with the best of them, can score by slashing and has a good inside shot. His range is decieving, as he's become a much better oustide shooter, especially at the 3 point line.Josh is the better player by a pretty good margin to me, allthough some of that may be because he's on a better team.

Caron averages over 8 per game. He averages more than Josh. lol. Caron and Josh have very similar games but Caron defending and scoring is just more consistent than josh

Butler: 21 ppg, 4 apg, 8 rpg, 2 steals, .33 blks, 28% from 3 point range, 40.6 minutes a gameHoward: 19.6 ppg, 2 apg, 7.2 rpg, 1.25 steals, 1.06 blks, 38% from 3 point range, 35 minutes a game. These are these guys major stats.I've bolded the ones that I think one guy has seperated himself from the other. Both guys would be good to have, but besides Butler average 2 more assist a game(you have to take into account the Screen and Roll/ISO offense Josh plays in though), and .75 more steals, I'd still take Josh. His 3 point range is valuable, he blocks more shots, is a better defender IMO, and is averaging close to Caron in every other stat wihle getting 5 and 1/2 less minutes a game.

I'd take Josh for the defense.

I'm hearing from Washington fans that Arenas is greater than Dirk and Caron is better than Howard? Why aren't the Wizards championship contenders than?

Id go with Caron Butler. He's been playin well lately and id rather have somebody that can shoot and take it inside strong rather then somebody that has mediocore range but can take it to the inside.

I think it is Josh Howard at the moment but I really am starting to like Caron Butler and don't get me wrong he is a really good scorer. But Josh Howard probabaly has a better range and and he can play better defense. This would be a much tougher choice in about 2 to 3 years when they both are gonna be stars.

Anyone saying that is biased, obviously, so you don't need to point it out. I'd take Josh. No disrespect to Caron, he's helped us a lot, and was a major reason why we're winning good games, but I think if we had howard, we'd be in a better position. Josh plays good D, which the Wiz desperately needs.

I would take Josh Howard...no doubt. If both players played the same amount of minutes, they would average the same rebounds per game and the same points per game, so I really think you can just throw stats out of the window. And then, their is defense. Howard is alot better of a defender and that is really where he gets the edge. Both are very good players, but I take Howard.

It's Josh, but not by a WHOLE lot, just a little bit.Now I'd think it's safe to say that Josh is WAY above Tayshaun(who used to be his closest comparison) now. LOL.

I'd take josh, but it is really close. The things that I like that josh does better than caron is his 3-point percentage and range, and his driving and slashing ability.

Howard and Butler are pretty close are on slashing also but I would have to give the edge to Howard too.

I'm not sure about anybody on the Wizards as a defender. Meanwhile, ever since Dallas has drafted Howard and his minutes have increased they've become a better team on the defensive end. I think that shows his talent on that end of the ball. Offensively, Butler's probably the better shooter of the two, but Howard finds ways to score even though the team rarely calls plays for him. It's tough, but I'll take Howard by a hair. Good to see both in the All-Star game too. Well deserved.
