The '16 Yankees are in two camps. One headed by Steinbrenner and Levine says keep and compete. The other surprisingly lead by Cash Crap says sell and get everything one can. From what I've noted in River Avenue Blues comments Yankee Fans value the latter. In addition ESPN propaganda pimping "Big Sloppi and his final season pimps that it would be a shame if the Bostons don't win in his final season. I don't know if the Yankees will sell or not, but one thing I'd like to see is for them to scramble competitors eggs especially the Boston style.

This team should obviously be selling. Tonight is right back to reality. It's no better than a .500 club.

Well, this much has been true- CashCrapTrashman hasn't traded a single one of the org's better prospects. Its been pretty obvious for well over a year that the "plan" has been and still is to ride out the contracts of CC, Beltran, Tex and later on Arod and then go with a couple of the younger players from the farm and via trades if possible.
We can definitely question and blame the Yanks for continuing to play these guys or not releasing them- don't know who is responsible but I have to think the person writing the checks has alot to do with it.

This so-called "plan" isn't (imo) ever changing or non existent.....I think we'll see (imo) some of it next season with Bird and Judge taking over for Tex and Beltran.....
...it's not really difficult to see and figure out, lol.....it's a no-brainer even for idiots like Trashcan and Hal. Some fans are the ones struggling to see the obvious.
And of course unless Severino is stinking up the place, he should also be in the fold and depending on how serious the Yanks really are at filling as many spots with young inexpensive players as possible, Gardner is one of their more "tradeable" players....
And what are they going to do if Sanchez continues to hit at AAA...wait for him to be 26/27 years old?

...yeah, evidently the Steins and Levine don't have the same idea as Cashman of what the actual plan should be.

Power struggle going on in management? Good.
The end could be near for Cashman.
From what I've heard, Hal and Levine want to go with the current group for the remainder of the season while Cashman wants to sell.

In any case, Tex and Beltran are gone after this season and unless Judge and Bird seriously regress, both are slated to step in, and for those who care about such matters, that will be 25% of the 8 players on the field with a lot of money off the books.

Incidently, in addition to Judge the Yanks have three other outfielders, Gamel, Austin and Cave who are doing well and should also be given a look in ST....can any of these four at least come close to what the immortal Brett Gardner has produced in the last 2+ seasons...with the chance of a higher upside?....for much much less money?

The "plan" is a no-brainer going into to next year...actually by default!
Lol..... yeah, those contracts were horrible....I guess we can still talk about them next season when they're gone and there are a couple/few new young players out there in the field.

What's going on off the field is far more paramount as to where this team is headed in the next
five years. When Cashman exits, there will be a clone taking the GM position. It looks as if the
Steins & Levine are the real culprits with the make up & development of this team. The faces of this
organization need to change. Who will drive these jerks into obscurity? Anybody?

Yeah, it's been a real team effort from top to bottom.
Probably better off if they get clobbered in these next 12 games vs Bos, Balt, SF and Houston....this brings them to July 27 with the trade deadline very close. Unless a small miracle takes place by then with the Yanks doing VERY WELL in those games, Hal and company should be forced to make a few moves. This could be kinda interesting, these are the things you look for and anticipate (at least I do) to add some kind of excitement in a lost season.

Yanks haven't had many "lost seasons" and gone into retooling mode....but maybe, perhaps we'll have a little fun talking about a couple of young new players they may acquire.....that's the best I can do for now.

Talking with a Blue Jays Fan last night who naturally predicted that his team would win the East. The man knew his team, made his points well. At the same time pointing out that since the Old Man (George) passed then Jeter departed the Yankees were coming down hill. If we fans know that for certain the opposing ball players do as well. Remembering when Cashman was screwing Jeter around on his contract with the "paying for performance" line. I could just see Jeter and group buying into the Yankees , Jeter calls in Cashman, fires him saying "We're paying for performance.
