No shock, but still not good news. I said last year that having Miller play on his qualifying offer and not getting him a bridge deal, leaving him arbitration-eligible the following season, would come back to fuck us. Again, poor cap management by the front office. He'll be over 2 for sure. 2.75 for 3? He isnt going to get a traditional bridge being that it's his third contract.
I think rangers try to tie kreids up with a palmers like contract for 5 years if they can which will be smart if they do. He's gonna get close to 4 if not 4 anyway in arbitration. Miller they should have bridges last year and will pay for that this year. Hayes sucked and should be cheap as will mac due to AV's brilliance (sarcasm) of keeping him on the bench most of the season behind crap balls girardi and boyle
The NHLPA has announced that the four Rangers who filed for arbitration will have their hearings in Toronto on: Dylan McIlrath: 7/21 Chris Kreider: 7/22 Kevin Hayes: 7/27 JT Miller: 8/2
I think is too much money honestly. It's his first full season, had 43 points and he gets 2.6 million per season? The NHL IMO is headed for another major lockout and the owners and GM's will be to blame this time. They are handing out money like it's candy.
Hockey salaries involve too much nickel and diming. Average basketball players are making 20 million a year LOL
Basketball and hockey are nothing alike. Hockey, sometimes you need all 20 guys to win. In basketball you can have 2-3 great players, rest are half ass and win titles. You could put together a team of LeBron, Westbrook and Townes and surround them with scrubs and win championships.
Wow i was only 325k off in my prediction! Thats a fair amount and could be a bargain if he continues his progression.
Glad to see rangers get JT done. Bridge seems like a good deal and didn't break the bank. Rangers will still control 1 year after done and if he plays well like I think he will they will sign him long term at that point.
He's only 23 and was already throwing his weight around, I like the numbers. Nash is making almost 3x the salary with marginally better results. I'd like to see CK resigned next. Hayes is interesting because I don't think he deserves much of a raise, if arbitration decides otherwise Gorton has a tough decision to make.
