You're guessing wrong. Although he only started 7 games, he played 22% of his minutes as a starter and was even worse guarding starters than back ups. His DRtg as a starter was a horrendous 123 (compared to a DRtg of 104 as a back up).

We don't need a 7th big man who's worse than the 6 we already have. The only one nearly as bad is Vonleh, and he's better, younger and still on a cheap rookie contract.

So 78% of his minutes are not playing in garbage time? Or is it that those minutes aren't enough to influence his stats?

I didn't say we needed a 7th big man, or compare him with Vonleh. Or that his DRtg is good.

I don't even advocate we sign him.

Just pointing out that garbage time is the best time for TRob to play. He's better in a helter skelter unorganized game than the structure of an NBA team. When he's forced to play with, and against, starters, he sucks even worse. He'd be great on the And1 Tour. Is that still a thing?

He also shoots nearly twice as many shots.
Lol so shooting a worse % is better? Because it means harder shots?
So the go to scorer scores at the same rate as the garbage man... And shoots 15% less. Lmao.

    With what roster spot?

Neither player has any "go-to" scoring ability. Davis being "opportunistic" is the reason he's actually an asset on the floor offensively while Robinson isn't--Davis doesn't need plays run for him or the ball in his hands to get his points. Robinson does need the ball to get points and his points are comically inefficient.

By this logic I'm better than both Davis and T-Rob.
I could jack up a bunch of shots and shoot a lower % than either of them. Means I'm a go-to-player.

But can you also miss your FTs, commit lots of unforced TOVs and suck at defense?

The lament of the inept go-to player: Sure, we miss a lot of shots, but what most people don't understand is that we also take a lot of shots.

Digging a little deeper into TRob on Brooklyn last year.

In spite of limited minutes, he was third on the team in total rebounds.

The coach saw fit to play him in 71 games.

His .447 FG% was a shade under the team average of .453.

His 105 DRtg was best on the team, tied with Rondae Hollis-Jefferson and Chris McCullough (who appered in 24 games).

His .453 TS% was worst on the team.

His TRB% was first on the team.

His 14.5 PER was 5th on the team.

His ORtg was worst on the team.

His FGA/36 was 9th on the team.

And that team won a total of 29 games. Need anyone say anymore?

Empty stats, and not very impressive, on a bad team. It wasn't like BRK had any kind of depth at the C and PF positions. His MPG went up at the end of the year when they shut down Brook Lopez and Thad Young. He's a good rebounder, and that's it. He pretty much sucks at everything else.

Why? Is this a joke? Did you fall in love with TRob as a player?

It seems better to compare his stats against his teammates. They all enjoy the same team culture, share the coaching staff, run the same plays, and have to share the floor with shitty defenders as teammates. They also played on the same losing team.

That he didn't beat out Thad Young says more about Young being pretty good - better than TRob. But nobody is suggesting he be signed to start here. If NO thinks he makes the team better or gives him flexibility at the trade deadline or next offseason, I'm good with it.

The fact that he was the worst shooter on a thoroughly crappy team says a lot. I wasn't saying anything about him beating out Thad Young, or anyone else, for a starting position. Just pointing out that he really didn't start to get big minutes, on a regular basis, until they shutdown their starting front court.

Neil isn't dumb enough to even consider offering him a contract. He won't make our team better and he's not a trade asset. The last time we traded him, he was just a throw in to clear a roster spot for us and make the salaries match, DEN cut him immediately. If anything, his value is even less now. Six teams, most of them crappy, have given up on this guy in five years.

I'd be concerned if NO signed Anthony Bennett. Some guys are worthwhile in spite of crappy shooting. But I don't need to go there.

So 3 of the players that our in our front court are better than a guy who would be in our front court.... yet you still want to bring him in? Do you realize how silly that sounds? The fact that you wrote this says no, but...

Do you think before you post things that are universally dumb or...

I wouldn't get rid of any of the bigs the blazers have now in order to add T-Rob to the roster, but if there was a roster spot open I wouldn't be against letting him be the 15th man.
