Tmobile is giving pokemon go players a free year of data specifically for pokemon go. Pretty sweet. I tried playing last night, but i was too lazy to walk anywhere. So i used a incense thing and caught like 6 different pokemon sitting on my couch. I have two pokemon gyms within a couple blocks of my house. Im just happy a pokestop isnt in front of my house. Not really sure if the game is for me though. I liked the pokemon games on gameboy back in the day, i just dont want to walk around everywhere to do shit in the game. I already have terrible knees as is.
I see a big positive to it. By catching everything around me, all the rugrats go elsewhere to play. Neighborhood sure is a lot more quiet now.....
People are probably going to be walking around with glasses in the future playing little video games like these. Man....I guess kids are getting exercise now. But Jesus...imagine if you time traveled to the present from 1980. And you come here and see everyone walking around starting at their phone. You'd think you were in a sci-fi movie.
So, I'm pretty sure Pokemon Go destroyed my phone Wednesday night. The battery died and although it is charged, the display will flash on quickly and then go dark and is non-responsive to swiping on the display. On Thursday I go to the store and they say manufacturing defect, we will overnight you a refurbished warranty replacement. Cool. I have it delivered to my office. On Friday, said phone arrives but guess what, yep, that one is defective too. So, they will overnight me another phone, again to my office address. Monday comes and no phone arrives. I go home and later that night I get a knock on my door. All the paperwork and the phone sleeve were thrown into a neighbor's yard. Apparently it was shipped to my home on Monday and got swiped. So yesterday morning, I call and they agree to overnight me a third replacement phone. That phone arrived today. It is brand new, not refurbished. So far, so good. Looks like I now have a functional phone. But no, I will not be downloading Pokemon Go again.
It sounds to me like you attributed a lot of unrelated issues with your brand of phone to Pokemon Go. Did you install the game on your second phone and it didn't work? I guess I'm confused... First phone - had PoGo and broke Second phone - never worked? Third phone - stolen Fourth phone - works but didn't install PoGo Is that accurate?
Yes this is all correct. My point is more that I think it broke my 1st phone. I had an unusual battery issue that popped up. It may be fine, but after this whole fiasco with replacing my phone, I'm not reinstalling PoGo. The rep at the phone store agreed that they are seeing a lot more phone problems with PoGo.
This is true. Zero incentive to walk around. Although the game isn't working so well anymore, so many people will be joining him.
I saw my friend at work had the app open on his phone. I called him every term I've learned is unacceptable from our discussions here. He says his wife made him download it to show her how to do it. She's Japanese and all of her Japanese friends are doing it. He thinks it is ridiculous but she is walking everywhere so he isn't stopping her. Doesn't mind if she tones up a bit. He also calls her one of the Borg, says anything her friends like she likes.
