After you've had a chance to digest that information, post your rating of the off-season for our Western Conference competition. Give each team a B for better, U for unchanged, or a W for worse than last season's roster. Also give a numeric rating compared to the Blazers based on a 1-5 scale, where 1 is much worse than the Blazers, 3 is on a par with the Blazers and 5 is much better than the Blazers. I'll post a board average after a day or so. You can use the list below to give me your projections. Dallas Mavericks Denver Nuggets Golden State Warriors Houston Rockets LA Clippers LA Lakers Memphis Grizzlies Minnesota Timberwolves New Orleans Pelicans OKC Thunder Phoenix Suns Sacramento Kings San Antonio Spurs Utah Jazz
Here's my assessment: Dallas Mavericks - U, 2 Denver Nuggets - U, 1 Golden State Warriors - B, 5 Houston Rockets - B, 2 LA Clippers - U, 3 LA Lakers - W, 1 Memphis Grizzlies - B, 3 Minnesota Timberwolves - B, 2 New Orleans Pelicans - W, 2 OKC Thunder - W, 2 Phoenix Suns - U, 2 Sacramento Kings - U, 2 San Antonio Spurs - W, 4 Utah Jazz - B, 3
You can include them if you want, but the rating system is in comparison to the Blazers so just go with the B, U, W and forget the numeric rating.
Dallas Mavericks - Slightly better but also older so could be unchanged. - 2.5 Denver Nuggets - Not better, not worse. - 1 Golden State Warriors - On paper, better. - 5 Houston Rockets - Slightly worse. - 2 LA Clippers - Slightly worse but closer to unchanged. - 3 or 3.5 LA Lakers - Better but they had no where to go but up. - 1 Memphis Grizzlies - Better but not enough to matter. - 2.5 or 3 Minnesota Timberwolves - Better but mostly due to coach. - 2 New Orleans Pelicans - Worse but probably will do better record-wise with health. - 1.5 OKC Thunder - Worse. - 2.5 Phoenix Suns - Slightly better. - 2 Sacramento Kings - Not better, not worse. - 1.5 San Antonio Spurs - Not better, not worse. - 4 Utah Jazz - Better. - 2.5 We are better. Put us at 3. 3rd or 4th seed (fighting it out with Clippers)
Dallas Mavericks W Denver Nuggets U (For next year but overall they got better) Golden State Warriors U (only one ball-and they lost quality depth) Houston Rockets W LA Clippers U LA Lakers B (They were so bad they had to get better...not by much though) Memphis Grizzlies B Minnesota Timberwolves B (They are better with experience alone) New Orleans Pelicans W OKC Thunder W Phoenix Suns U (For next year but overall they got better) Sacramento Kings W San Antonio Spurs W (Their record was incredibel last year, no way they duplicate that) Utah Jazz B Portland: B (Added quality FA's and will have more experience- we improved the most if we keep Moe) which is ironic because on draft day peoples on this board said we dropped the most)
I didn't realize GSW lost so many rotations players, maybe this will come to bite them even through the signing of KD
Remember when the Lakers gutted thier team to create the big four of Kobey, Shaq, Malone and Payton? They didn't win it all, but they did go to the finals. I think they had about an 8 man rotation with Rick Fox, Horace Grant, Bryan Russel and Fischer?
Dallas Mavericks - W, 2 Denver Nuggets - U, 1.5 Golden State Warriors - U/W, 4 (The loss of depth nearly cancels out the addition of Durant. Houston Rockets - U/W, 2 LA Clippers - U/ Slightly worse, 3 (the addition of bass and Speights doesn't neccesairly make up for losing Aldrich and Green. LA Lakers - U/B maybe if Mozgov and Ingram can help them get a few more wins, 1.25 Memphis Grizzlies - B, 2.5 Minnesota Timberwolves - B, 2 New Orleans Pelican - W, 1.33 OKC Thunder - W, 2.2 ( less win they trade Westbrook) Phoenix Suns - B, 1.35 Sacramento Kings - U, 1 San Antonio Spurs - W, 3.25 ( With the retirement of Duncan, look for Aldridge to ruin things. Gasol can't replace what Duncan means to the Spurs) Utah Jazz - B, 2.5 Blazers - B ( The addition of Turner and Ezeli makes Portland a top 4 team
Dallas Mavericks U 1 Denver Nuggets U 1 Golden State Warriors U 3 Houston Rockets B 2 LA Clippers W 2 LA Lakers B 1 Memphis Grizzlies B 3 Minnesota Timberwolves B 2 New Orleans Pelicans W 1 OKC Thunder W 1 Phoenix Suns B 2 Sacramento Kings U 1 San Antonio Spurs W 3 Utah Jazz B 3
I find it hard to believe that one team is interested in Thomas Robinson, let alone all the ones listed.
