You caught Mrs. HCP! Congrats on the fish man...Ive never caught any fish of great size...but I threw out a double booked line and caught to fish at the same time once...nothing like nature and fishing man...good stuff
Well not quite. April/May when it took the MarAzul up the Columbia, I had my eye open for a good fishing spot, like where the fisherman where catching fish. Never found that spot between Astoria and Portland, I mean not one fish caught by a fisherman! That is damn near incredible. But while I was looking, I did notice a lot of sea lions in the river, like thousands! I did see seven sea lions with a fish. So we know there are still some salmon but the catching of them is now different, sea lions 7, fisherman 0. It has been 41 years since I ran the river in a boat, back then no sea lions and lots of fish and fisherman catching fish. It has been 44 years now since the marine mammals act passed. We sure have a bunch of those! Oh btw, while I was up in the Portland area, the authorities closed the river to fishing, not enough fish where bing counted at Bonneville. They were afraid not enough fish were going to make it to the spawning grounds.
I never liked fishing. I only had fun once that I remember. 30 something years ago my gramps took me to Bonneville for shad fishing. I'd just throw my hook out and reel one in. It wasn't very fair but it was kinda fun.
Time to start fishing for sea lions....a little hot sauce and garlic...if it's good enough for sharks, it's good enough for zeros
I'm proud to be a zero...met most of the flock at the meet and greet at the Moda Center last fall...somewhere Sly has a picture of the entire flock!
I've only been seen by one person here. I'm a zero, but a taciturn one. Maybe I'll try to be more gregarious when I get back to Portland.
