I'm gonna use bad grammar, more than usual even. War sucks but we've been fighting the wrongest wars, even more wrongest than usual. Completely about money.
There's a lot of truth to the line that war is good for the GNP...gets rid of old real estate ..construction boom...kills off young men and women that would enter the job market..good for unemployment numbers...sells lots of ammo, choppers, planes, ships, rockets, etc....good for manufacturing..protects oil reserves from falling into the hands of competitors...good for national interests...you listen to the old retired hawks hash this stuff over often at vet meetings I've attended. You're absolutely right though...it sucks..but you're wrong that this is the worst of them..there have been far worse wars on the planet
About oil...instead of working on sustainable energy sources for when there is no more oil in 50-100 years, we are starting nonsensical wars to steal oil from other countries. We choose what is easy over what is hard. No not the worst, but indeed the stupidest
Not in modern history. WW2 had a purpose for us. We didn't even want to be involved. Korean, whatever. Vietnam, holy shit is that stupid and they're just getting worse. How many soldiers survived recently with their stuff blown off? For what?
Actually WWI was one of the worst...our Civil War was horrible..history is history....Serbia, Bosnia, Croatia...that was ugly...Africa has had horrible wars forever..Mao's red guard was horrible...soldiers have been maimed since Ghengis Khan...all over the world you see them. It's like saying one poison is worse than another
The pipeline through Turkey and crossing north of Afghanistan is bordered by US military bases and Russian military bases..the Suez Canal is big business for whoever controls it. We're there for reasons other than nationalism and democracy.
African wars we stay out of. Until they find oil and then all of a sudden female genital mutilation is a reason to go to war there.
Shit, our government talks about saving countries from dictators and rebuilding their cities. We can't even save our own country or rebuild our own cities
